Carlie graduated from Newcastle University in 2002 and had been worked in Leeds 10 years before joining our team. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry but is highly trained and experienced in treating anxious patients. She is qualified to administer botulinum toxin and facial fillers and has also just started an MSc in Nutritional Therapy which she finds really interesting.
Outside of work she enjoys relaxing with her family, yoga, running and anything to do with food!
Catherine joined our Bishopthorpe team in February. She offers a full range of routine and cosmetic dental treatments. Her special interests are restorative dentistry, minimal intervention cosmetic dentistry and dental treatment under Sedation.
Claire qualified at Leeds Dental School in 1998 and has practiced in the North Yorkshire area for over 13 years. She has worked in both NHS and private dentistry and enjoys providing general and cosmetic treatment to families of all ages.
Outside work, Claire is mum to two young girls and enjoys spending time with the family, horse riding and the great outdoors. Her recent challenges have been taking part in the Leeds Half Marathon and the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere.
Gwyneth graduated from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 2002. After completing her vocational training she spent three years training in hospital in oral surgery and restorative dentistry, including two years at Leeds Dental Institute.
Since then Gwyneth has been working back in general dental practice, where she enjoys the variety of the vocation, providing high quality family dental care.
She is a Member of The Faculty of Dental Surgery of Royal College of Surgeons in London.
Outside of work she enjoys running (anything from fell races to the odd marathon) orienteering, practical philosophy and keeping her two kittens out of mischief!
Hussein qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2009. After completing two foundation training years in Haxby and York Hospital, he's stayed in the area. Although originally from the south, he's settled in York "because it's too nice to leave!".
Hussein holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry which he completed in 2020. This diploma included training to provide Bioclear composite restorations. He is also a trained provider of Invisalign Go orthodontics.
Although Hussein enjoys all aspects of dental care, he is particularly passionate about preventative and minimally invasive dentistry. He is keen on maintaining good periodontal (gum) health for all patients and has a special interest in removable prosthodontics.
In his spare time, Hussein is an avid squash player, which helps to offset the calories from his love of food.

Jane graduated as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist in 2006 from Sheffield Dental Hospital. After working in both General Practice and a Specialist Orthodontic Practice she studied Orthodontic Therapy at UCLAN in 2009 where she passed with distinction.
Outside of work, Jane loves being with her young family. From walking and mountain biking to spending time at the beach. Jane loves to travel and is an avid cook and runner.

Kris is the principal dentist/owner of Thorpe Dental Group York.
He graduated in 2005 from University of Leeds. Kris has a special interest in the treatment of anxious patients and has gained extensive experience in the use of intravenous sedation.
He also has a special interest in dental implantology, and has completed his masters degree in implant dentistry from the University of Warwick.
In 2013 Kris passed his royal college of surgeons qualification.
In December 2012 Kris was crowned Winner Of The Dentistry Awards Best Young Dentist North East.
Outside of work Kris enjoys going to the gym, socialising and spending time with his young family.
Since then, Marco has practised in Wales working with a high need patient base. Throughout this time, Marco kept patient support and communication at the forefront of his work, to ensure his patients felt assured in their dental care and treatment.
Following this Marco returned to York and has worked in a mixed practice where he developed an interest in aesthetic dentistry and crown/bridgework.
Marco is always keen to enhance his skills and understanding in dentistry having obtained postgraduate qualifications with the Royal College of Surgeons and is currently undertaking a post-graduate diploma in restorative and aesthetic dentistry in London.
Marco is thrilled to be back in his hometown and is looking forward to providing the highest standard of dental care to our patients.
Outside of dentistry Marco enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the gym and running.
Mechelle joined the practice in 2004 and qualified as a dental nurse in 2005. In 2010 she took on the role of practice manager and has gained a Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management from the institute of Leadership and Management, but still likes to nurse on a regular basis.
In 2010 Mechelle completed the SAAD sedation course which enables her to support patients while being sedated for treatment within the dental practice.
Outside of work Mechelle enjoys socialising and spending time with her family.
Petra qualified from Leeds Dental School in 2005 (classmates with Kris!) and has worked in a busy family Dental Practice for the past 13 years and enjoyed the variety of general dentistry that it bought. She enjoy's all aspects of dentistry and has in the past 4 years been carrying out aesthetic wrinkle treatment alongside this.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her two young children and going for walks with their dog. She also love all kinds of sports and all things food!
Rebecca qualified from Newcastle University in 2014. She worked at our Copmanthorpe practice until 2015 and then worked as a general dentist in Hampshire before returning to us in January 2018.
Rebecca enjoys treating children and putting those who are nervous at ease. She has a keen interest in adult orthodontics and is trained in Invisalign.
Outside of work Rebecca enjoys skiing and baking.
Rob qualified as a dentist from the University of Sheffield in 2013. He completed his foundation training in Sheffield after graduation, before spending a year working in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rotherham General Hospital. This role had a focus on oral surgery, and included weekend and night-time on call shifts.
Following this, Rob worked as an associate dentist in Sheffield. He passed his membership exam for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) in 2015.
Rob relocated to York in 2017 to start working at Woodthorpe Dental Centre. He is interested in the management of gum disease, and the application of digital dentistry (for example using our digital scanner) to provide crowns and bridges to patients.
