Amy has worked with us since 2018 and has a dual qualification in both Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. This allows her to carry out Oral Hygiene, fillings, children's dentistry, X-rays, impressions and tooth whitening. She works across our Woodthorpe and Copmanthorpe branches. Outside of work Amy enjoys cooking and her weekly clubbercise class.

Carlie has been practicing general dentistry since 2002. She has a particular interest in nervous patients and has been providing sedation since 2009. Carlie originally completed her sedation training at Newcastle University, and decided to return to study in 2008 to gain her DipConSed.
She has a growing interest in facial aesthetics and has over 10 years' experience carrying out a variety of facial treatments. She has worked all across Yorkshire and joined us here at the Thorpe Dental Group in 2016.
Carlie is a member of the IAAFA (International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics) and SAAD (The Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry).
Carlie is married with two children. She loves all things food and trains most days at her local CrossFit box.
Catherine qualified from Leeds University in 2004 and has worked in practices across North and West Yorkshire for almost 20 years. She gained the prestigious Diploma in Conscious Sedation from Newcastle University in 2009 and has provided hundreds of sedations since.
She joined Thorpe Dental Group in 2019 and provides a full range of restorative treatment, Invisalign (and aligner based) orthodontic treatment and general dentistry/oral surgery both under sedation, and under local anaesthetic using a range of techniques.
Outside of work, Catherine is mum to two young children, Jack and Ellie which keeps her very busy! When she isn't running between various sports clubs and drama classes, she enjoys good food, holidays and spending time with friends and family.
Claire is a general dental practitioner with over 20 years' experience working in practices in North Yorkshire. She has worked within both NHS and private dentistry, and enjoys providing general and cosmetic treatment for all ages.
Claire trained at the University of Leeds, completing the five-year course with Honours and gaining several prizes during her undergraduate time there, including the Prize for Periodontology. Her postgraduate Diploma in Endodontolog y was affiliated with the University of Chester, and she spent two years studying part-time whilst continuing with her general dentistry work.
Claire loves the great outdoors and is always happy when walking, gardening, open water swimming or taking her paddleboard for a spin. She is a mum to two teenage girls who keep her on her toes!
Gwyneth graduated from Newcastle University in 2002. After completing her vocational training, she worked for three years in secondary care, receiving further training in oral surgery and restorative dentistry. It was during this time she gained her MFDS (Royal College of Surgeons England) and met Kris - she subsequently joined Thorpe Dental Group in 2010.
She completed her year-long postgraduate training courses in restorative, operative and aesthetic dentistry in the Tipton Training Academy and gained level one accreditation with the British Society of Occlusal Studies. Gwyneth is also Invisalign certified clear aligner provider. Her areas of interest include minimally invasive and aesthetic dentistry and root canal treatment - she is currently studying towards a PG Diploma in Endodontics at the University of Chester.
Hussein qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2009. After completing two foundation training years in Haxby and York Hospital, he's stayed in the area. Although originally from the south, he's settled in York "because it's too nice to leave!".
Hussein holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry which he completed in 2020. This diploma included training to provide Bioclear composite restorations. He is also a trained provider of Invisalign Go orthodontics.
Although Hussein enjoys all aspects of dental care, he is particularly passionate about preventative and minimally invasive dentistry. He is keen on maintaining good periodontal (gum) health for all patients and has a special interest in removable prosthodontics.
In his spare time, Hussein is an avid squash player, which helps to offset the calories from his love of food.

Jessica is a registered Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry. She qualified as a dentist in 2016, graduating from the University of Leeds with an integrated master's in dental surgery. Since then, she has held several hospital posts across Yorkshire in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Adult Special Care and Community Dental Services before completing my specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry at The Leeds Dental Institute. She has been registered as a Specialist since 2023 and began her consultant training in September 2024. She has recently completed a Leadership Fellowship with Health Education England and the School of Dentistry at The University of Leeds.
Jessica is particularly interested in helping children who have experienced dental trauma or have unique developmental dental conditions with a passion for acclimatising and treating dentally anxious children. Her gentle, explanatory and patient focused approach acclimatises children to accept dental treatment who may otherwise struggle in routine practice. She is skilled in non-pharmacological and pharmacological behaviour management techniques, including Makaton, British Sign Language, and Inhalation Sedation. She has extensive experience in the provision of sedation and is a SATC-accredited supervisor.
Jessica accepts referrals for any child between 0-17 years, treating those with complex dental and medical needs, neurodiversity, dental anxiety, and special needs. She uses up-to-date techniques and technologies, whilst focusing on holistic, patient-centred care. Her knowledge, experience, and passion for treating all children and adolescents is what makes Thorpe Dental Group special.
Kris is the principal dentist/owner of Thorpe Dental Group.
He graduated in 2005 from University of Leeds. Kris has a special interest in the treatment of anxious patients and has gained extensive experience in the use of intravenous sedation. He also has a special interest in dental implantology, and has completed his Master's Degree in Implant Dentistry from the University of Warwick.
In December 2012 Kris was crowned Winner of The Dentistry Awards Best Young Dentist North East. In 2013 Kris passed his Royal College of Surgeons qualification.
Outside of work Kris enjoys going to the gym, socialising and spending time with his young family.
Marco is a general dentist with a special interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. Providing Invisalign, composite bonding and porcelain veneers.
Since graduating with honours and two distinctions from the University of Liverpool he has gone on to complete a year-long diploma in aesthetic dentistry in London. Following this he has being shortlisted as a finalist for Young Aesthetic Dentist 2023 in the Clinical Dentistry Awards. He is originally from York and only grew up a stone's throw away from the practice!
Outside of dentistry he enjoys running and pedalling on his peloton.
Nick graduated from Newcastle University in 2019 and worked in a busy mixed practice in Southport and York before joining the team at Thorpe Dental Group. He is a dedicated clinician, passionate about delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care. He loves taking the time to get to know each patient individually and believes this is essential to fostering trust and an overall positive patient experience. Nick prides himself on his patient and caring approach when working with all patients, especially those who may be anxious or dentally-phobic.
Nick is looking to continue his post-graduate training in a number of disciplines, so as to provide a wider range of high-standard care to his patients.
In his free time Nick enjoys spending time with friends and family, and has keen interests in film and sport.
Petra qualified as a dentist in 2005, having studied at Leeds with Kris. She is one of our associate dentists working at Woodthorpe, who enjoys the variety of all aspects of general dentistry but has particular interests in aesthetic and restorative treatments.
Petra is keen to help anxious patients who find it hugely rewarding working with nervous patients to gain their trust and confidence.
Petra is a very bubbly personality who enjoys the busy lifestyle of her young family. She loves keeping fit, CrossFit and snowboarding and can often be found gardening or cooking.
Rebecca qualified from Newcastle University in 2014. She worked at our Copmanthorpe practice until 2015 and then worked as a general dentist in Hampshire before returning to us in January 2018.
Rebecca enjoys treating children and putting those who are nervous at ease. She has a keen interest in adult orthodontics and is trained in Invisalign.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her young family and her goldendoodle Bella.
Rosie graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Newcastle in 2017. Since qualifying as a dentist she has spent 3 years working near Newcastle and moved to work in York in 2020.
During that time, she passed the Faculty of Dental Surgery exams allowing her to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. As a Clear Aligner provider she enjoys improving patient's smiles and restoring their confidence in attending the dentist as her calm and patient manner really helps anxious patients.
In her spare time she enjoys walking her cocker spaniels Poppy and Ozzy, playing the piano, yoga and running.
Mechelle joined the practice in 2004 and qualified as a dental nurse in 2005. In 2010 she took on the role of practice manager and has gained a Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management from the institute of Leadership and Management, but still likes to nurse on a regular basis.
In 2010 Mechelle completed the SAAD sedation course and in 2022 was awarded the NEBDN award in dental intravenous sedation which enables her to support patients whilst being sedation for treatments within the dental practice.
Mechelle is our practice certified medical first aider and has also completed the dental decontamination leadership programme qualification.
