Loretta Rowe is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and National Certified Counselor. In 1996 Ms. Rowe opened the Anger & Stress Management Center (ASMC) in Fairfax City. At ASMC Ms. Rowe provides counseling to individuals, couples and groups, and conducts the Anger Awareness Program, an eight week anger management program which she designed and has been successfully presenting for about twenty-one years. She also teaches anger mangement in the Fairfax County Public Schools Adult and Community Education Program. She lectures and conducts anger management programs for a variety of public and private organizations throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. Ms. Rowe received her B.A. in English with a minor in psychology from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. in 1966. She earned her masters degree in Psychological Services from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia in 1991 after completing an internship at the Women's Center, a private nonprofit counseling organization. She has pursued additional education predominantly focused on anger management and cognitive approaches to therapy as well as mindfulness and compassion training and studied extensively under Linda Seligman, Ph.D., an internationally known author, lecturer, professor and clinical psychologist.
