Attorneys Richard C. Bennett and William Johnson began practicing in 1974 and 1978, respectively. They founded our firm in 1981 and were pleased to welcome Mr. Johnson's son, Andrew Johnson, as an associate in 2015. Our three lawyers focus solely on personal injury cases. Andrew Johnson is the senior associate in the Oakland office and represents clients in a wide range of personal injury matters, including automobile and motorcycle accidents, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, medical malpractice, dog bite incidents, premises liability and dangerous conditions of property. Andrew focuses on complex personal injury cases including wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and more. Andrew joined the firm in 2015 after passing the California Bar exam in 2011 and practicing law for 4 years in San Francisco as an injury defense attorney. After gaining invaluable experience as a defense attorney Andrew decided to become a tireless advocate for injured parties. Andrew's clients describe him as compassionate, hardworking and effective. Andrew was born in Berkeley, CA. He attended U.C. Berkeley where he obtained his undergraduate degree in English. He received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco where he graduated cum laude in 2011. During his time at USF Andrew worked as an extern for Judge Richard Kramer in the complex litigation department of San Francisco Superior Court. While at USF Andrew also received CALI awards for achievements in Legal Writing and Research and Constitutional Law.

Richard C. Bennett

Richard C. Bennett co-founded Bennett Johnson, LLP, in 1975. He received his legal education from the University of San Francisco, where he earned his Juris Doctorate, and holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Rick was admitted to the California State Bar in 1974. If two things can be said about Rick, it is that he treats his clients as if they were his own family members, and that he is at the same time thorough, tenacious, and tough. He is defined by his compassion, respect, and high professional and ethical standards, which are critical to effective legal representation. Since launching the firm, Rick has successfully arbitrated, and reached verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients exceeding $750,000,000. He rises to the challenge when clients come to him with seemingly impossible cases, including those rejected by other firms. His knowledge and experience have allowed him to secure some of the highest personal injury awards for cases in Solano, Orange, Kern, Fresno, Santa Barbara, Napa, Alameda, San Francisco, and Los Angeles Counties. Rick is also a popular instructor and lecturer in several areas of legal education.
