Catherine Rees

Catherine has worked in commercial archaeology since 2002. She holds both Bachelors and Masters (grade Distinction) Degrees in Archaeology (specialising predominantly in British & European Prehistory) and in 2010 completed a two year Postgraduate Diploma in Historic Environment Conservation at the Ironbridge Institute. In 2007 Catherine relocated from South to North Wales and she has worked extensively in the counties of Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy. Using this experience and local knowledge she founded the archaeological unit CR Archaeology and runs the business with partner Matthew Jones. Catherine has a particular interest in the Neolithic of Wales and the somewhat later Welsh Nonconformist architecture. Catherine is member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA)

Matthew Jones

Matthew Jones is a highly experienced field archaeologist and project manager with over 13 years experience in commercial archaeology. Matthew has obtained academic qualifications in both Archaeology and Welsh History from the University of Wales, Bangor, and Archaeological Practice from the University of Highlands and Islands, Orkey. His technical expertise has been gained through an extensive portfolio of large and varied projects, operating at supervisor, project officer and project manager level on behalf of local and national organisations and as a project director. Matthew is a native of North Wales both growing up, studying and working extensively in the area.
