Siegfried Grob has mentioned, that in his case it was not necessary to connect pins 21, 22, 23, 24 and 27 with pin 20.

Torsten Burgdorf has told me, that he has performed the description of Ulrich Maaß and that the Controller did work faulty without the connection between pin 27 and pin 20; but the connections between pins 21, 22, 23 & 24 and Pin 20 are not necessary. He also gave me the circuit of his modifications: Becaue I did not have the opportunity to perform this description I can´t comment it. Try it out (on your own risk) and share your experiences.
