Hearthstone School has been an integral program through Butte County Office of Education since the 1980's. We began as Butte County Home Study and in the mid 1990's developed our charter. We serve approximately 220 students in grades TK-12 throughout Butte County and all contiguous counties... Hearthstone School is a personalized learning program that provides students the opportunity to complete much of their learning at home. With the guidance of a credentialed teacher, students complete assignments as prescribed in the Student Learning Plan, completing 4-6 hours of schoolwork per day depending on the student's grade level. One-on-one daily parent participation is an integral part of student success... To further support our students' learning, we offer on-site classes including core subjects, enrichment opportunities, and supports to address the individual academic needs of students.
