HUNTER CARPENTRY - Key Persons

Fraser Hunter

Fraser Hunter is from the Shetland Islands - an archipelago in Scotland, off the northeast coast. It was here, steeped in the traditions of the old world, that Fraser discovered his extraordinary talent when working with wood. At 15, Fraser began a rigorous four-year apprenticeship under the tutelage of master craftsmen in Northern Scotland - seizing each opportunity to learn the nuances, beauty and history of his trade from these world-class professionals. After earning his carpentry ticket and working in Scotland for several years, Fraser decided to travel across Canada to further develop his woodworking skills. Here, he built log cabins in Alberta, homes for the Inuit in Nunavut - and, to Canada's benefit, decided to stay. With more than 25 years of carpentry experience (12 years alone serving the GTA), Fraser brings the heritage of his ancient craft to his Canadian home. Fraser takes great pride in the quality of his work. Quality in the way he builds. Quality in the woods he builds with. And quality, in the way he treats his customers. In fact, the entire life-cycle of every project that Fraser takes on is marked by his unceasing professionalism. Fraser lives in Oakville with his beautiful wife and handsome little boy. He's an avid soccer player and a regular on the Ontario marathon circuit. "I've lived, breathed and sweated carpentry since I was 15 years old. It's not just my job, it's my passion, and I think it's important for my customers to know that."
