M. AIELLO ASPHALT PAVING - Key Persons

Americo Aiello Jr.

Americo Aiello Jr., or "Cookie" as he was known, founded A. Aiello Jr. Trucking, in 1960. Cookie had two (2) ten-wheel dump trucks that he used to haul materials for Old Colony Crushed Stone in Quincy. Through hard work and dedication, Cookie worked his way up the seniority list at Old Colony. By 1972 he had secured the top two slots on the Hired Truck List for hauling materials. Cookie took great pride in the appearance of his trucks, and was known to be a dependable driver who was always on time. Cookie impressed the owner of Old Colony so much, the owner proposed selling him all of their trucks so Cookie could be the only trucker on Old Colony's list. Seizing this opportunity, Cookie started buying Old Colony's trucks, with their financing. In 1978, Cookie's trucks totaled five (5) ten-wheelers and two (2) dump trailers. In the years following, he continued to buy more, while pursuing his asphalt paving business on the weekends. In 1982, Old Colony suddenly closed due to union trouble. While unfortunate for Cookie, the owner of Old Colony helped him sell the trucks he didn't need. A. Aiello Jr. Trucking was downsized to three (3) ten-wheelers. Cookie found work for these three trucks at Tilcon as hired trucks. He continued his asphalt paving business on weekends and when it was slow at Tilcon. By 1986, A. Aiello Jr. Trucking was steadily working its way up the Hired Truck List at Tilcon.
