Briana Cruz CN

Job Titles:
  • CHC Neurotherapist, Nutritionist, & Health Coach
Briana is currently a Neurotherapist, Certified Nutritionist and Health Coach at Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs. She completed her Associates of Science in Psychology and with nursing prerequisites from Reading Area Community College, in Reading, PA. Briana changed her passion for psychology into a passion for healing without the use of pharmaceuticals. This new lens of healing led her to study under Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Mark Hyman, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Walter Willet, Sally Fallon Morell, Dr, Neal Barnard, David Wolfe, and many more. She became a certified nutritionist and health coach in 2009 from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Since then, Briana has continued to explore natural and holistic healing modalities. An interest in breathwork and nervous system regulation advanced to taking online courses from master breath work practitioners, Emma Alta and Eleanor Mann play therapist, founders of The Reconnected. Briana plans to build on this interest by completing a certification program through the HeartMath Institute. She completed her neurofeedback training under Chris Edwards and Dr. Steven Stockdale. Briana, while focusing on a skill set in a trauma sensitive manner, hopes to help others build resilience and capacity for emotional regulation following trauma. "As a mother, I see the importance of learning and teaching emotional regulation, as well as healthy balanced eating and living habits, at a young age in order to foster fortitude in our toxic world. My deep passion for nature, learning, and well-being started later in life than what I hope for my children. At the same time, my own journey of healing from my childhood trauma is what led me to nutrition and other holistic practices, such as my love for gardening, cooking, yoga, and breathwork. More so than any of my passions and interests, it has been my children that were the catalyst for lasting change on many levels. I now know that providing tools and practices for emotional and physical health can be attainable, with the support of a lens or focus - meaning, we focus inward on what we can control, as opposed to only looking outward to conditions and environments out of our control. I also recognize the role of epigenetics and its role in governing our lives, and how this can play out not only within the context of our own lives, but on a generational scale. And so, it is both our relationship with our own selves and with our greater community that supports our capacity for vitality. My ultimate aim is to create space for myself, my children, and my clients, to step out of the shadows of generational trauma and disease, and step into a life that is nourishing and deeply lived."
