OAK LANE DAY CARE - Key Persons

Emily Bowman

Job Titles:
  • Director
I am pleased and excited to join this lovely community. As a psychology major at Immaculata, I fell in love with early childhood education, which became my minor. An internship in an infant/toddler program led to my first teaching job and eventually to my first director position. I've worked as a teacher with all ages, from infants through school-age, and have directed daycare centers both here in the States and in Ireland. Oak Lane's Quaker mission and goals are in line with my personal goals at this point in my life and I'm enjoying the opportunity to learn new ways to engage with children on a deeper level. As a life-long musician, I am enthusiastic about incorporating music into our program and my ukulele now lives at Oak Lane! Kayla Weaver - Office Manager (hired 2022) I have recently graduated in May of 2022 from Shippensburg University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. My career goals include pursuing my master's degree and becoming a high school guidance counselor. I am very thankful to have found Oak Lane Day Care to begin my career! Although this is my first time employed at a Day Care, I have previously spent my time as a caretaker for children with physical and intellectual disabilities because I have a strong drive to care for all individuals. I pride myself in my advocacy skills. Watching my younger brother, whom is currently five years old, has made me realize I love watching the development of children!
