PLAINFIELD EYE CARE - Key Persons

Dr. Beth Groninger

Dr. Beth Groninger is a 1990 graduate from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Before joining Plainfield Eye care in 1991, she completed a residency in ocular disease at the VA Medical Center in Danville, IL. Plainfield Eye Care was founded in 1961 by Dr. Tom Maloney, followed by the addition of Dr. Cory Shaffer, who joined as a partner in 1976. When Dr. Maloney retired, Dr. Groninger purchased his portion of the practice and subsequently became the full owner in 2012 upon Dr. Shaffer's retirement. Dr. Groninger has continued to follow in the footsteps of these doctors who built the foundation of Plainfield Eye Care to provide the highest standard of quality eye care to our patients. Currently, Dr. Groninger has begun to focus on the administrative role of practice ownership and has very limited patient care hours. If you have been a patient of Dr. Groninger, you will continue to receive outstanding care from one of our other three associate doctors. Ongoing is her commitment to technological advancement in eye care, being the first in the county to provide optical coherence tomography. We also offer advanced solutions for dry eye treatment, including iLux and Epi-C Low Level Light therapy, as well as special testing with the AdaptDx for early diagnosis of macular degeneration. The doctors at Plainfield Eye Care continue to provide advanced, non-surgical care and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, corneal abnormalities, specialty contact lens fitting, visual aids for low vision patients, pre- and post-operative care for cataract and LASIK surgery, as well as treatment of minor ocular injuries and urgencies. In her spare time, Dr. Groninger enjoys time with friends and family, traveling, and creating many types of art. Please use our contact form to send an email to her if you have any questions or concerns.
