PUBLIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE - Key Persons

Dr. George W. Oprisko

Job Titles:
  • Executive Director
Given the current regulatory climate, and the magnitude of Anthroprogenic Climate Change, He feels the Institute must use it's Expertise in Quantitative Analysis,Operations Research, and Simulations to demonstrate the feasibility and desirability of conversion to 100% renewable power. He advocates distributed, off the shelf, renewable power production technologies suitable for dwellings, commercial buildings, farms, and industry. He was instrumental in initiating the City of Shenzhen's effort to install solar powered streetlights, and is pleased to note that today, China is among the largest producers of renewable powered streetlights, solar panels, and wind turbines. He sought the contractual relationship with GeothermEx which led to our emphasis on geochemistry as one of the key screening components of the Institute's prospect evaluation algorithm. He independently verified the applicability of this method, scoured the literature for all possibilities, and filtered them into the screening tool used today. Under his leadership, the Institute developed low temperature power conversion technologies that are more efficient than prior art, and he is actively seeking partners to further improve these technologies . These technologies enable the low temperature exploitation of geoThermal, salt gradient pond, and ocean thermal energy sources. Together with Cryostar, the Institute created off the shelf power plants from 300 Kwe to 25 Mwe, operating from heat sources between 70 o C and 150 o C, and further work continues on plants capable of operating on sources as low as 30 o C..
