SMARTFLYER - Key Persons

Amy Cochran Klein

Job Titles:
  • Virtuoso As an Account Director
With over two decades of travel industry experience, Amy brings knowledge of both the hotel and consortia sides of hospitality to her role as Director of Affiliates at SmartFlyer. Upon graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Public Relations, this small town girl arrived in Miami in the mid-1990s. She fell in love with the energy and excitement of this growing multicultural city and made it home for eighteen years. After a stint at a global PR firm's regional office in Miami, Amy soon realized that the travel industry was her calling. Early on, she moved into sales which meant agency events in New York and London alongside traveling to the off-the-beaten-path properties across the Caribbean, therefore igniting a passion for authentic travel experiences. Amy's next career move was to the newly opened Mandarin Oriental, Miami which was the city's first international luxury brand to come onto the scene. The art of gracious, intuitive service further shaped her view of hospitality - and perhaps a taste for Rosé Champagne! But, Amy's career-defining experience was working for Taj Hotels and Resorts. She was tasked with re-introducing The Pierre to the U.S. travel agency community at which time she commuted between Miami and New York. The bonus was a life-changing three-week sojourn throughout India. In 2014, after working at hotels that were preferred partners of Virtuoso for more than a decade, Amy joined Virtuoso as an Account Director. This role included managing relationships with agency members including SmartFlyer. Based on her existing relationship with the Smarties as a hotelier, she managed the SmartFlyer account with synergy built on a shared value of the client experience. While at Virtuoso, Amy added Fiji, Australia, and Hong Kong to her list of favorite destinations. Outside of her work, Amy is the mother of a 7-year-old son and stepmom to 19 and 21-year-old daughters. She is also a dog mom to Marley, a Silver Labrador. She and her family enjoy the outdoor life in Central Florida spending most warm weekends boating. Amy is also an avid Peloton enthusiast.
