Alina Halstenberg

Alina is a 2nd year studying Environmental Economics and Policy. She is passionate about raising environmental awareness, safeguarding vulnerable populations, and working on decarbonization strategies. She is also a Bonnie Reiss Fellow through the UC Office of the President. Outside of the Office of Sustainability, she works in the ASUC Office of the President in the Environmental Justice and Sustainability department and hopes to bridge the gap between environmental research and effective policy implementation. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, playing the piano, and spending time with friends.

Ashi Mishra

Job Titles:

Ashi is a 4th year studying Conservation and Resource Studies. She is passionate about promoting equity within clean energy and green tech, particularly through uplifting underrepresented voices in these spaces. She also currently serves as UC Berkeley's Eco Senator, representing the undergraduate environmental community and addressing environmental justice issues on campus.

Ashley Smiley

Job Titles:
  • Postdoctoral Fellow
Ashley is a Postdoctoral Fellow focusing on decarbonization data analytics. Ashley's work enables data-driven decision making and predictive analyses to set carbon reduction goals and effective carbon reduction projects with campus. Additionally, she is contributing to the exploration and development of a Living Laboratory connected to UC Berkeley's Clean Energy Campus initiative. Ashley completed her Ph.D. in Biomechanics from the Department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley.

Britney Wu

Britney is a 4th year studying Environmental Science and Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST). She is interested in how GIS and other mapping technologies are integrated in environmental research, which then influences policy and climate adaptations. Her passions include making scientific knowledge more accessible to the general public, and working with various environmental organizations both on and off campus.

Jennifer is a 4th year studying Economics with a Minor in City & Regional Planning. She is actively engaged with the Office of Sustainability, where her main focus is to contribute to the establishment of the UC Berkeley Sustainability and Clean Energy Community Advisory Group (SCE CAG). She is enthusiastic about deepening her involvement in community initiatives and gaining insights from local community groups committed to addressing climate change.

Raphaela Floreani Buzbee

Sameer Ameen

Sameer Ameen is a third-year Environmental Justice & Sustainability student at the University of California, Berkeley. Sameer is supporting the Berkeley Office of Sustainability (OS) as a Climate Action & Resilience fellow and a Bonnie Reiss Fellow through the UC Office of the President. He is working to make the Berkeley campus more environmentally resilient to hazards through the development of an updated Vulnerability Assessment. An avid hiker, traveler, and foodie, Sameer is usually exploring the Bay Area or cooking food on the weekends.

Tatum Hurley

Tatum is a 3rd year studying Society and Environment and Ethnic Studies. She is passionate about bringing awareness to and learning about the intersections of environmental issues and race, class, and gender in America. She also works with Cal Zero Waste to implement zero waste efforts on campus and bring attention to environmental justice in the world of waste.

Tiffany Mar

Tiffany is a third year student majoring in Society and Environment and minoring in Data Science. She is interested in exploring how community-driven solutions can solve pressing sustainability challenges. In the future, she would like to pursue a career at the intersection of technology and the environment where she can advocate for both people and the planet. She is excited to be a part of the Zero Waste Coalition and support zero waste efforts across campus! In her free time, Tiffany enjoys creating digital art, playing volleyball with friends, and picnicking on the Glade.
