Dan Degagné

Job Titles:
  • Baseball Instructor
Dan is an all around athlete and enjoys all sports but is passionate about cycling, baseball and volleyball and has experience coaching in all three areas. In addition, he has coached and played baseball internationally. He is an avid cyclist and has participated in numerous races and recently attempted to complete a long distance cross country trail - Tour Divide ( Continental Divide Trail). As a coach, he believes that every athlete is capable of achieving their goals and aims to provide them with the tools they need to develop their strengths and capabilities. He has a natural ability to analyze a players movements by watching them move and make suggestions to increase efficiency and reduce risk of injury, while dissecting and going into depth on biomechanics helping the athlete develop body awareness. Dan is approachable and engaging while challenging athletes to push their limits in a safe environment. His experience coaching various sports allows him to reference other movements and use cross-disciplinary training (ex, slapshot comparison to teach a child how to swing a baseball bat or defensive footwork in volleyball to defensive footwork in baseball).

Jeff Eidse

Jeff is the founder of SWEATY Training & Conditioning. He is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg with a BA in Kinesiology & Applied Health and is a High Performance Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists (CSEP-HPS, CSEP-CPT). Along with his degree and CSEP certifications he has also achieved the Pain-Free Performance Specialist Certification; High Performance Training for Sport through Human Kinetics; Dynamic Variable Resistance Training (DVRT) level I & II Certification; and an Agatsu Kettlebell Certification. As a trainer since 2007, Jeff has worked with clients from every background. Jeff has excelled at bringing the best out of athletes from as young as 7 years old playing youth sports, all the way up to professional and college athletes. Specifically he has worked with athletes in Hockey, Badminton, Soccer, Football, Rowing, Ringette, Volleyball, Cycling, Golf, MMA, Fitness & Figure, Baseball, and Marathons. Jeff has also helped numerous other clients who are looking to get the best out of life, whether that means seniors looking to stay active with less joint pain, parents who want to keep up with their kids, or individuals recovering from injury. Currently, Jeff is working with the Steinbach Pistons as their Athletic Trainer. Prior to which he spent 6 years working with the Eastman Selects programs in varying strength and conditioning roles.

Justin Lemoine

Justin graduated from Evolve College of Massage Therapy in 2019, equipped with a passion for holistic healing and a dedication to therapeutic excellence. Specializing in deep tissue trigger point therapy and John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR), Justin's expertise lies in addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellness through massage treatments. Justin's approach is rooted in the belief that true healing encompasses the whole individual. With a focus on myofascial techniques and deeper massage methods, Justin's treatments are meticulously tailored to each client's unique needs, ensuring comfort and efficacy in every session. By targeting the underlying causes of pain and discomfort, Justin strives to facilitate holistic healing and restore overall well-being. With a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, Justin stays at the forefront of massage therapy practices, continuously refining techniques to provide the highest standard of care for clients.

Tessa Chernos

Job Titles:

Tessa graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2022. She graduated with her Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. She became a certified personal trainer with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologist in 2021. Most recently she obtained her Pain-Free Performance Specialist Certification. Tessa works with a variety of clients, from hockey athletes, to volleyball and baseball athletes, as well as the general population. Whether it is athletes or gen pop, she believes in finding your starting point and going up from there. Everyone starts at a different place and progress is individualized. It is so rewarding to watch clients succeed and accomplish things they did not know they could. Tessa values exercise as a privilege and passes that along to her clients. Exercise truly is the best medicine. Tessa is currently working with the U18 Girls Eastman Selects program. Growing up she was involved in various competitive sports, from AA ringette, to volleyball, and softball. Fitness and sport were a huge part of her life from a very young age. She learned the values of training from a young age as she became more competitive in sport and her teams began to train with Jeff at SWEATY. Since then, training was always a crucial part of her life and eventually she made it into her career as she got older and can now pass on those values to her young athletes.

Theresa Eidse

Theresa is a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists (CSEP-CPT). She will complete her Kinesiology degree at the University of Manitoba in Spring of 2024. She is excited to use her passion for strength training and well-being to expand her knowledge to benefit the community of Steinbach in a meaningful way. She enjoys connecting with everyone here at the gym and getting to know everyone on a personal level. She has worked with many different clients from athletes to older adults looking to stay active. She focuses on progress, not perfection. Showing up for people to help them with a long-term results instead of quick fixes that are not sustainable. She grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan and was involved in many sports. She played volleyball, basketball, badminton and competed in track and field and cross-country running. After high school, she played competitive ultimate frisbee in Winnipeg. Theresa also competed in figure competitions at the Manitoba Amateur Body Building Association in 2008 and 2009. Theresa also works behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly here at SWEATY. Customer service is paramount and works diligently to ensure everyone feels welcomed and valued.
