THORNDOWN PRIMARY SCHOOL

We believe that the links between school and home are important to enable every child to maximise his/her potential. Parents are actively encouraged to be involved in their child's learning and many offer regular voluntary assistance or support specific activities during the school year. Our Home-School Link Book enables effective communication on a daily basis... There are two main playground areas which include outside play equipment and a trim trail. The large playing field gives plenty of space for games lessons and lunchtime activities. There is an enclosed wildlife area with a pond and we have a vegetable plot with our own ‘eco' friendly greenhouse... I liken Thorndown to a small village; the children, staff, parents, grandparents, governors and our many visitors are all part of a supportive and caring community. We are a highly inclusive school and ensure that everyone is able succeed in a place where they feel safe, happy and valued.
