The history of Alderley Edge Windows & Doors, although a short one, first started out as an idea by its founder Richard Ford many years ago. The Ford family has been resident in Wilmslow and Alderley for over 300 years and in that time has seen them operate businesses such as farriers, Coopers, plasterers, car mechanics and carpenters and joiners. More recently the owner of Alderley Edge Windows and Doors started his career with Browns of Wilmslow, the renowned building and civil engineering company. This company had a long and illustrious existence, building many of Cheshires landmarks including Hoopers & Barclays Bank in the heart of Wilmslow. It also maintained Manchester Cathedral and many other famous landmarks throughout the region.
