I am a registered and bonded Legal Document Assistant, specializing in assisting people with Estate Planning documents. I am not an attorney; I can only provide self-help services at your specific direction...
A Legal Document Assistant used to be known as an "Independent Paralegal." However, in the year 2000, the State of California created a new category of legal service providers called Legal Document Assistants. Paralegals working independently (now called Legal Document Assistants) are authorized under California law to prepare legal documents for consumers. A Legal Document Assistant must be registered and bonded, and they must also be a fully-trained and certified Paralegal. Documents prepared by a Legal Document Assistant are just as legally valid and binding as documents prepared by an attorney.
