Ron and I moved to Solivita in Central Florida from Connecticut in 2012. We planned on continuing our real estate profession by selling a few homes and semi-retiring. We went to one of the community pools a few days a week and hit it off with a group of residents. We savored that time with them, sitting in the pool looking at magazines, reading books, and floating around the pool working on our tans. We learned so much about each other. After a while, people would come up to us and tell us stories about their previous real estate transactions. Some of these stories were very disheartening. After this happened multiple times it became clear that we had a mission to fulfill. We kept getting nudged by some residents to start our own brokerage so we could provide professional services the way we did in Connecticut. They felt there was a gap that Ron and I could fill.
