Anyone having thoughts of suicide should be taken seriously and should be put in touch with someone who is trained to help. Where there is immediate danger or risk phone 999, take someone to A&E, seek an urgent appointment with a GP or the local mental health crisis support services should be contacted... Most people with thoughts of suicide are also wanting to find a way to live. If you are at risk of suicide, please try and ask for help in the most direct way you can. There are more people than ever, who are trained in Suicide First Aid and other ways to help a person at risk. A person at risk should not rely on having just one helper at such a critical time in their life, nor should they make such an important decision alone.
