Built in 1884 as a general store, this iconic building has had a rich history, having been used as a Post office, Bus depot and tea room, museum, and café and even had Petrol pumps attached at one stage. Awakino River Lodge is a newly renovated exclusive French provincial-style lodge providing boutique accommodation in coastal Taranaki / Waikato, New Zealand.
