CHRIS L. SMITH

Chris Smith has 34 years of experience in developing and delivering technical computing solutions to customers across a wide variety of markets including discrete and process manufacturing, financial services, life sciences, and DOD/DOE test/analysis. As a senior analyst, Chris brings significant real world global experience to the team. His expertise helps customers (both end-users or providers of cloud solutions) develop cloud computing strategies that produce superior business outcomes. Prior to becoming an analyst and consultant, Chris was Chief Technology Officer for HP's Cloud Computing organization, responsible for the solution strategy that aligned HP's Cloud/Utility services offering with customer requirements and competitive alternatives. He also led HP's HPC Cloud/Utility solutions and business unit since the group's inception in 2005. Chris also developed the start-up business units that would bring those services/products to market. At the executive level, he worked directly with HP's corporate leaders in the strategy and spin-off of a wholly-owned CAD software subsidiary, as well as setting up the Asia-Pacific Region for the software business unit. Chris is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. When he is not working, Chris is frequently engaged in one of his many passions which include slalom water skiing, snow skiing, skeet/trap shooting, golfing, and classical piano.
