Amy Turnbow joined the staff at Dawson in 2004. She has a degree in Culinary Arts. Amy's ministry responsibilities include managing the busy church calendar, answering all things weddings and cooking, planning, and organizing both large and small events for the Dawson Family of Faith. Amy enjoys spending time with family, friends, developing new recipes and reading in all genres.

Andy Cartee joined the Dawson Family of Faith March 2011. He currently serves as Minister of Recreation. During his time at Dawson, Andy has led our young adult ministry, college ministry, marriage ministry, and medical ministry as well. Before coming to Dawson, Andy served as a student minister for more than 16 years in Auburn, Chattanooga, Navarre Beach, FL, and Winter Park, FL. He has a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University and a Master's in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. Born and raised in Auburn, Andy is married to his beautiful wife Keri, and they have two children, Caleb and Chloe. Andy enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, exercising, and restoring old cars.

Angela serves as Dawson's Worship Coordinator. In addition to being part of the Music & Worship Team, she has been involved in many different ministries at Dawson: teaching at the Day School, leading Preschool Music Camp, singing on the praise and worship team, and serving on the drama team during Kidlife. Angela loves worship at Dawson, especially planning and communicating service details, encouraging and equipping leaders of all ages, and serving alongside our church family as we offer our gifts to God. Angela studied at Birmingham Southern College and has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She enjoys teaching, coffee with friends, cooking, singing too loudly when no one is around, and can most often be found alongside her husband Andy and children Maddie and Ben.

Aubrey, a St. Louis, Missouri native, moved to Birmingham in 2013 to attend Samford University. Aubrey completed an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Life Education with a minor in Sociology. Aubrey then pursued her Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School and graduated in December 2019. In June 2021, she joined the Dawson Student Ministry team as the Associate Minister to Students. Aubrey enjoys traveling with her husband Tyler, as well as running, cooking with friends, reading, and listening to others over a good cup of coffee. Above all else, Aubrey loves seeing women live freely in the Lord and desires to shepherd the young women of Dawson to walk faithfully with Jesus.

B.C. Romano

B.C. Romano joined Dawson as Director of Video Media in June 2007. He works part-time at Dawson and full-time at the Southeastern Conference where he has been the Director of Video and Creative Services since 2009. B.C.'s responsibilities include producing the weekly TV broadcasts of the Sunday service. B.C. has a degree in Telecommunication and Film from the University of Alabama and was born and raised in Vestavia Hills. He is married to his wife, Ginny, and they have a daughter, Harper Anne and a son, Benny.

Bayron Mosquera

Hispanic Pastor

Bayron Mosquera is originally from Ecuador. He began working at Dawson in December of 1994 as the pastor of the Hispanic Congregation. Before coming to the States, Bayron worked in Ecuador for 14 years in a government organization. As a member of the University Baptist Church in Quito, he assumed various leadership roles and later served as the Interim Pastor. Bayron obtained his degree in Public Administration from the Central University of Quito, Ecuador, and years later graduated from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with his Masters of Divinity. Bayron is married to Maria, and they have two children, Evelyn (married) and Byron Jr., and one grandson, Benjamin James "Benji". Bayron enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and ping pong.

Ben Hewitt began serving at Dawson in 2018. Ben graduated from Samford University in 2020 with a major in History and a minor in Religion. He received his MDiv in Preaching and Pastoral ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2023. Ben plans to start pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from Southeastern in Summer 2024. Ben is married to Beth Hewitt, and they have one daughter (Emersyn "Emmy"). Ben enjoys being with family, playing golf, and learning.

Bre joined the Dawson Family of Faith in 2019. She has served with Dawson's Recrecreation Ministry since that time and is passionate about reaching others for Christ. Bre has also served with Hearts & Hands and Dawson's Student Ministry. She is finishing her degree at UAB and is excited for the ministry that she has been called do. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, friends and family, and her poofy dog, Rigley.

Brent Coleman joined the Dawson Family of Faith in October 1994. He has been serving as Music Associate since December 2002. Brent's responsibilities include conducting the Middle School Choir, Chapel Ensemble, Sanctuary Ensemble, singing in the Sanctuary Choir, and the Men's Quartet. Brent received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Auburn University in 1994. He is also the Choral Director at Pizitz Middle School, where more than 200 students currently participate in the choral program. Brent has been married for 28 years and has two daughters. When he's not busy making music, Brent loves spending time with his three pet parrots, Larry, Curly, and Moe.

Music & Worship Associate, Staff Accompanist & Arranger

Brent Reeves serves as the staff accompanist and arranger for the Dawson Family of Faith. Playing both piano and organ and arranging and composing music for use in worship are his passions. His desire to assist congregations in worship began at age 12 with his first church-pianist position. A native of Albertville, Alabama, Brent received the Bachelor of Music degree (summa cum laude) from Samford University, the Master of Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from The University of Alabama, where he also studied organ. Brent is an adjunct faculty member for the School of the Arts at Samford Univer- sity where he also serves as an accompanist for undergraduate and graduate vocal- ists and instrumentalists. Additionally, he maintains a private piano studio. He has membership in several professional organizations and has served many of them in various offices from librarian to president. He and his wife, Lorna, enjoy spending time with their children, Emma (husband, Thomas) and Phillip. When traveling, they are always on the lookout for the best locally owned restaurants.

Brooke loves ministering to preschoolers and their families. She believes it is important for parents and church leaders to work together to teach children to love God, His Word, and His Son, Jesus. Brooke's family joined Dawson when she was just 6 months old and she is thrilled to be on staff in the church where she was dedicated, baptized, called to ministry, married and saw her own children dedicated and baptized. Brooke is a graduate of Samford University, and is an Age Level Insights columnist for Children's Ministry Magazine. She is married to Darrell Gibson. They have two children, Shae and Hannah. Brooke's favorite Bible verse is "I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." Bryan Howard began serving at Dawson in May of 2018 as the Associate Minister of Recreation and Fitness. In 2020, Bryan was called to the role of Minister to Students. Bryan received his Master's in Discipleship from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2022 and a BA in Religion from Samford University in 2018. Bryan is married to Kendall Howard, who graduated from Auburn University in 2018, receiving her BS in Business Administration Professional Flight Management. She is a commercial airline pilot. Bryan loves a good cup of coffee, pickleball, and staying active.

Hispanic Ministry Assistant

Carolyn serves as Administrative Assistant to Bayron Mosquera, pastor of the Dawson Hispanic Congregation. Prior to joining the staff at Dawson, she taught Spanish at Samford University for twenty years. She has a special place in her heart for Spain and Costa Rica, two places she visited many times during her teaching career. She also loves learning French, reading, and knitting. Carolyn lives in Homewood with her husband, Allen. Their hobbies include hiking, camping, and canoeing. They have a daughter and a son-in-law, Rebecca and Henry, who live in Chicago.

Carrie serves as The Learning Center's Program Coordinator and scheduler for Kids Connection. Carrie has been a member of Dawson Family of Faith since 2016 and you can find her playing the flute in the orchestra. Carrie graduated from Lee University with a Bachelor degree in Human Development. She also graduated from The University of Tennessee with a Master degree in Social Work. Prior to her current role, Carrie enjoyed working with adoptive and foster families. Carrie is married to Dan and is a mom to two boys, Caleb and Ethan. Carson Osborne is a lifelong member of Dawson. Currently, she is a Senior at Samford University pursuing degrees in Early Childhood, Collaborative, Elementary, and Special Education. She plans to further her education by pursuing a Masters degree in Special Education before becoming a Special Education teacher in a public school setting. Carson enjoys traveling with her family, playing pickleball, working at Camp Hope (a South Carolina camp for adults with special needs), serving through both church and social groups, and spending time with friends exploring the city.

A staff member since May 2017, Christi works on various graphic design projects and also manages the church's website. She graduated from The University of Alabama in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, during which time she studied journalism and French. She went on to receive her Master's degree in 2013, with a concentration in journalism. Before working at Dawson, Christi worked in graphic design in the Birmingham area. She loves the challenge of a new project and appreciates the family atmosphere of Dawson's staff. In her free time, she likes to read, watch movies, and spend time with her cats. She loves all things Disney and will probably beat you at Disney trivia.

Cole began serving as Minister to College Students at Dawson in 2023. Prior to coming to Dawson, Cole served at Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL where he graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and at Iron City Church in Birmingham, AL while completing his Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School. Upon graduation, Cole served as a high school teacher for several years before moving to Dawson. Cole lives with his wife, Jada, and their two dogs in the Homewood area. He enjoys playing pick-up hoops with friends and taking walks with his wife and dogs. His additional hobbies include drinking hipster-coffee and cooking for his family and friends.

Born & raised in Pelham, AL, Craig attended First Baptist Church of Pelham and graduated from Pelham High School in 2016. He went on to attend Jacksonville State University and graduated in the fall of 2020 with a degree in Communications and a concentration in broadcast. While in college, Craig spent a lot of time working in radio and interning with Jacksonville State Athletics helping to run the sports broadcasts for Football, Basketball, and Baseball on ESPN+. While living in Jacksonville, Craig attended First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and was on the production team with the College Ministry there that met on Monday Nights. While serving there, he operated the cameras and ran the livestream for the college services every week during the spring and fall semesters. Craig attended and served there for 5 years learning and growing his knowledge and love for Church Production. Following his time in Jacksonville, he was able to move back to Birmingham and join the production team at Dawson in the Summer of 2022. Craig loves working and serving here on staff and being a church member.

Associate Music & Worship Minister

Dan Mullis serves as the Associate Music & Worship Minister for the Dawson Family of Faith leading a variety of instrumental and choral ensembles in worship and special ministry projects. His passion in ministry is to encourage and equip musicians to connect to God's story and mission wherever they are given the opportunity. He holds a Masters of Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies and a BM, Church Music from Belmont University. Aside from working with musicians and singers at Dawson, he enjoys assisting the local schools in teaching student musicians on trombone and jazz studies. Previous ministry opportunities included serving as Instrumental Music Minister, Conductor for the Jacksonville Praise Orchestra, and he has participated in and led music missions in various countries. As a musician, Dan has performed with Denver & the Mile High Orchestra, Travis Cottrell, Christafari and Truth. He is joined in ministry by his wife, Carrie and their two sons, Caleb and Ethan. When not in ministry together they enjoy getting outdoors biking, camping and hiking.

Brad was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, and went to Samford University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His journey has taken him from Associate Minister of Recreation here at Dawson, to Minister of Recreation at FBC Dothan, Student Minister at FBC Pensacola, back at Dawson as Minister of Recreation, Discipleship Pastor, and now as Dawson's Executive Pastor. On this journey, Brad learned the true direction of a disciple of Jesus; to love God while loving others, and to equip Christians for the work of ministry to build up the church, the body of Christ. This is Brad's goal here at Dawson and in all things he does. He is married to Maile and father to two adorable daughters, Addison and Audrey. Brad enjoys coffee, reading, running, hiking, and spending time with his family.
