DURKES VETERINARY CLINIC - Key Persons

Dr.Terry Durkes

Dr Durkes began his research in the gold bead implant in 1975. Initially his research was for the treatment of hip dysplasia and epileptic seizures. Over the next 5 years he also started research on arthritis of the back, knee, elbow, and shoulder plus the treatment of wobbler disease. In all conditions except epileptic seizures, Dr Durkes is helping the muscles, tendons, and ligaments around the joint to tighten up. This prevents the excessive movement of the joint which helps to stop pain and weakness of the joint. Dr Durkes is able to achieve this goal in 1 to 3 weeks post gold bead implant. Long term Dr Durkes gets a gradual remodeling of the joint. In spondylosis of the back, he has had complete remodeling of the back within 2 years post implant. In all other joints he has 30- 40% remodeling. In epileptic seizures Dr Durkes is correcting electrical blockages in the nervous system. These electrical blockages will eventually cause seizures if the body is unable to correct them.
