Katie Moses Swope founded MoSwo PR in 2013 after 25 years of working in the PR and sports events industry. From 1997-2013, Moses Swope was part of the communications team for ESPN - seven of those years as Director of Communications for ESPN with one of her last publicity projects overseeing the launch of the west coast SportsCenter. During her 16 years at ESPN, Moses Swope worked more than 100 events, including X Games (Brazil, Dubai, France, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Thailand, U.S.), ESPY Awards, Monday Night Football, NASCAR, Disney announcements/ red carpets. In addition to events, Moses Swope prepared executive talking points, managed hundreds of press conferences, created a crisis strategy for events. Moses Swope executed the crisis plan and messaging following the accidental death of an athlete during competition. The ESPN president said she was "considered a key stakeholder in the company" and "got the company through this crisis." The work Moses Swope is most proud of during her ESPN time is 1) her contributions to the V Foundation for Cancer Research committee, 2) fulfilling Make-a-Wish requests with athletes, and 3) her experience and success with crisis management. Because of these three things, Moses Swope founded and built MoSwo PR based on a business model focused on helping others through storytelling, educating her audience on adaptive sports and athletes living with disabilities, and protecting athletes, brands, and companies when crisis situations arise. During MoSwo PR's seven years as a boutique PR firm, Moses Swope has worked as a publicist for action sports and soccer events, Olympians, Paralympians, Olympic National Governing Bodies (NGBs), films, company announcements and acquisitions, charitable organizations and events, and grand openings. The work Moses Swope is most proud of during her time at MoSwo PR is 1) her contributions and dedication to telling the stories of Paralympic athletes, 2) serving as the family spokeswoman to the Dave Mirra family and educating the public on CTE, and 3) working with clients that are inspiring, innovative, and kind. Moses Swope is based in Denver, Colorado, with the loves of her life - her husband and best friend of 15 years, Steve Swope, and the couple's three, energetic, adventurous children.
