Claire Becker has 19 years of experience in international humanitarian and development organisations, including 5 years in the field, mostly in programme management and fundraising positions. Claire is an experienced trainer and facilitator, specialised in Project Management, Fundraising and Training of Trainers. She was trained by the Bioforce Institute in Lyon, France, where she was a Training Programme Coordinator for 5 years and now an associate trainer. She also designs and facilitates tailor-made training for international NGOs (Solidarités International, Cordaid, Solthis, Solidarité Sida, Enfants du Monde) and their national partners and is a teacher for several University Humanitarian Masters in France (IRIS Paris, Université Lyon II, Université de Saint Etienne). In the field, Claire has worked for Medair as finance and logistics officer in Sudan. She also worked for the French NGO Triangle GH as Country Director in Vietnam and as Desk Officer for South East Asia (East Timor, Indonesia, Lao and Vietnam), managing various types programmes in development and emergency contexts: water & sanitation, post disaster reconstruction, rural development and food security and psycho-social support to communities. She has also worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sudan. More recently she was a Deputy Desk Officer for Humanity & Inclusion (Handicap International) in charge of Uganda and Kenya as well as a of a multi country major project in sexual and reproductive health. As a consultant she supports NGOs (such as Action contre la faim, Solidarités International, Croix Rouge française, IECD, Première Urgence International, Médecins du Monde) in designing their project and writing funding proposals. Claire holds a Master's degree in International Humanitarian Aid from the Faculty of Law of Aix-en-Provence.

DR. DANY DAOU

Dr. Daou has over 20 years of experience in teaching and training for NGOs, public and private sector. He has extensive expertise in strategic management, Results-based management, Project Cycle Management, diversity, gender, setting up a non-profit organisation, life and soft skills trainings, as well as in the development of curricula for training of trainers. He founded and managed a local NGO for 15 years. Dr. Daou is a senior consultant with NGO Management School since 2012. His experience includes planning, coordinating and implementing trainings at international and regional organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Save the Children (SCF), Business Development Center (BDC) of Jordan, YMCA, Red Cross, Capadev UK, Pestalozzi Children Foundation Switzerland as well as numerous regional ministries. Dr. Daou has delivered trainings and lectures worldwide in more than 23 countries namely in Lebanon, Switzerland, France, Georgia, Jordan, Iraq, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Yemen, Oman, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Kurdistan, Libya, Sudan, Mozambique, Tanzania, Guatemala. Dr. Daou is a Dental Surgeon and holds a Master degree in Public Health. Since 2011, he teaches in both under and postgraduate programs at Lebanese University, where he is responsible of the modules of health education, project management and communication.

KARIN CASTILLA-CIVELLI

Karin is a geologist by trade and an environmentalist at heart. After 15 years spent abroad, raising her children and taking care of her family, she came back to Switzerland and embarked on a new chapter of her professional life. Over the years Karin has had the opportunity to work for public offices, non profits, and as an entrepreneur. This somehow eclectic background gives her an unique perspective and a range of different skills. She has developed strong writing and organizing skills, an ability to convey and summarize various researches or reports. Karin volunteers in various NGOs, and has gained experience in marketing, translations and fundraising. Her years abroad, as well as her bicultural marriage, give her an openness allowing her to embrace other cultures and points of view. She has a deep knowledge of South American culture and is therefore particularly attuned to the challenges faced by NGOs in that region. Mother of two, Karin enjoys time with her family, likes exploring the great outdoors and is also an avid crafter.

MARCO KIRSCHBAUM - President

Marco has worked on human rights and humanitarian issues since 1985. As a student, he worked for the protection of refugees and detainees. After an MA in Chinese studies in Berlin in 1991, Marco joined the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), with missions in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Djibouti and Israel as a delegate, head of mission and protection coordinator. At the ICRC's HQ in Geneva, he served as head of sector Protection for the Middle East from 1998-2003, and for Asia from 2003-2007. He co-founded the NGO Management Association in 2001 with Daniel D'Esposito, a colleague from the humanitarian sector, and its NGO Management School in 2009 with Roberto Palo, a training specialist, and served as NMA's executive director until 2014. From 2014-2018, he was in Ukraine with the OSCE. 2018-2021, he worked as Executive director for Handicap International Switzerland in Geneva. From 2021-23, he was the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Adviser of the UN in South Sudan. Marco currently serves again as NMA's Executive director and is also the president of the board of NMA.

Maria Normita Palo has more than 20 years of experience as a trainer and consultant for NGOs, for cooperatives, communities, local government units, donor agencies and for small businesses.

MARTIN DAMARY

Martin Damary has dedicated his professional life to humanitarian work, sustainable development, human rights, peacebuilding and elections. In the humanitarian sector, he was worked for the ICRC, Geneva Call, PHAP, and was a board member of the Gender and Mine Action Programme. He is an expert often seconded by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, notably on election observation missions. He has worked in the development field for the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and is currently working part-time for a Swiss trade union. Since 2005, he has specialised in the management of NGOs, mostly covering human resources, finances and general management. By combining his field work experience in a number of countries - usually in the throes of armed conflict - and his knowledge of Swiss and international administrative norms, he is in a unique position to understand the needs of NGOs and to make use of his experience and insights in training and consultancy. Matteo est consultant, évaluateur et formateur. Il est économiste et politologue, avec un doctorat en Sciences Politiques de l'Université de Genève. Il bénéficie d'une expérience de 25 ans dans le domaine de la coopération internationale et de la gestion publique. Il est spécialisé dans la formation pour adultes (Executive Education) et enseigne la Gestion stratégique de projet, l'Evaluation et la Gestion par les Résultats dans diverses organisations de formations professionnelles et académiques suisses et à l'étranger. Matteo is a senior lecturer, senior consultant, and senior trainer with over 25 years of experience in international development and not-for-profit, strategic project management, and evaluation. His main areas of competencies are in state-building, decentralisation, governance and capacity building; project cycle management (PCM), Results-based Management (RBM), monitoring and evaluation, performance management and change management. His innovative multidisciplinary approach aims at blending knowledge from several disciplines in social, political, project management, foresight, and cognitive sciences. Matteo is a member of the Swiss Evaluation Society (SEVAL), of the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS), and a former member of the technical board of the Swiss Italian NGO federation (FOSIT). RANA HADDAD

Rana's work experience covers various thematic areas in Public health and development. She worked as project coordinator for capacity building of gender and inclusion, Primary Health Care workers in Lebanon, a project between SCF and the American University of Beirut (AUB), then as a Technical Officer for the Lebanese National AIDS Control Program, as well as a teacher of an undergraduate course at AUB. Rana worked as director of Soins Infirmiers et Développement Communautaire, a Lebanese NGO, and as the MENAHRA-WHO-Drosos Manager of the Knowledge Hub for the Middle East and North Africa. Since 2003, Rana worked in regional and international contexts as a Public Health and development consultant on issues including reproductive health, peer education among youth, children and youth participation, community development, HIV/AIDS/STIs, drug use, smoking tobacco and healthy life styles. She collaborated with various UN agencies, ministries and NGOs in the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Cyprus, Djibouti, Egypt, Georgia, Iraq, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Rana developed programs and behavioural change communication plans and evaluated such programs. She produced awareness raising, educational and training materials. She conducts various training courses on strategic management from beginners to advanced users, well as research projects. Rana holds a Master in Public Health-Health Behaviour and Education from the American University of Beirut (AUB) since 1987.

Roberto has more than 25 years of experience as a communication professional and senior trainer and consultant for NGOs, cooperatives, communities, for local government units, donor agencies and for small businesses. Roberto is co-founder of the NGO Management School in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2008-2009, he has conducted the first series of NGO management courses in Geneva with participants coming from both north and south NGOs and donor agencies.

STEFAN ZIEGLER

Stefan Ziegler has over 13 years of experience in the fields of research and advocacy related to humanitarian action. He currently works as training designer for UNDP and as an independent consultant specialising in humanitarian advocacy. Until 2013 he managed the Barrier Monitoring Unit (BMU), a research unit of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the West Bank. He was in charge of researching the impacts of the Wall on Palestinian communities directly affected by its route.
