Allen Hill

Job Titles:

Allen Hill is the retired President and CEO of DPL Inc (DPL), a $2 billion holding company with its principle subsidiary the Dayton Power and Light Co. During his 37 years, Mr. Hill served the company in various capacities including COO, Treasurer, CFO, and a number of engineering positions. He was a member of the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Hill received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1967 and his Masters of Business Administration in 1972; both from the University of Dayton. Mr. Hill is actively involved in business and community organizations. He serves on the boards of iNet Interactive Inc., Raptor Technologies LLC, United Layer LLC, chairman of the University of Dayton Board of Trustees, past Chairman of Premier Health Partners, past Board member of Fifth Third Bank and has served on a number of community Boards in the Southwest Ohio area.

bob oster

Mr. Oster started his career as a professional economist and moved on to become Chief Financial Officer of several companies, taking two of them public, including Oracle Corporation. Since 1987, he has been a private investor working with other private and institutional investors in all phases of the venture investing process from incubation and due diligence through building the management team and sale of the company or initial public offering. He was a first round investor and Director of LifeUSA Holding, Inc. a life and annuity company that went public and was later merged into Allianz Life of North America. He was a first round investor and special advisor to Informatica, Inc. ("INFA"), a provider of data integration software. Also, he was a founding investor and director of several search fund companies: Asurion, Inc., a specialty and smart phone insurance company; Pacific Pulmonary Services, (now part of Teijin Holdings) an oxygen and medications company; and Carillon Assisted Living, Raleigh, NC, a private assisted living company. He is currently a founding investor and director of iNET Interactive, West Chester, OH, a private internet advertising company; Raptor Technology, Houston, TX, a private school visitor management software company; Industrial Water Treatment Services, Chicago, Il, a private industrial water treatment and services company; Discovia, San Francisco, CA, a private e-discovery legal company; and Recruit Military, Dayton, OH, a private company focused on matching veterans and companies for civilian jobs. He's also a special limited partner for Spring Ridge Ventures, a venture capital partnership focusing on technology in health care, and an investor/advisor for several small private equity funds. He received a BA in economics from Occidental College in 1963 and an MA and Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1965 and 1967, respectively. He is an Overseer of The Hoover Institution at Stanford University and Chairman of Summit Public Schools, a California charter public high school management organization.

Coley Andrews

Coley Andrews is a founding partner of Pacific Lake Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the search fund model. Since starting Pacific Lake in 2009 Coley has worked with over 35 search funds. He is currently a director at Out of Home America and Data Fusion Technologies and a board visitor at several Pacific Lake portfolio companies. Prior to forming Pacific Lake, Coley worked at Tech For Less, a small growing company owned by two search fund entrepreneurs. He also was an associate at Golden Gate Capital and The Parthenon Group. Coley holds an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and a BA from Dartmouth College.

David Carver

David Carver is a co-founder of Search Fund Partners. He and his partner, Rich Kelley, have spent the last nine years developing and managing the SFP portfolio. He is on the board of iNet Interactive, Advanced Network Solutions, UnitedLayer, DataFusion, StaffOne, WebEquity, Raptor Technologies and VRI. David spent thirty years as an executive in the high tech industry, and has extensive experience in all phases of business, including M&A, fund-raising, corporate strategy and operations. He was CEO of HiFive!, an application service provider; CEO of Hipbone Networks, an online collaboration company; EVP and GM at Network Associates; COO of Network General; an EIR at Institutional Venture Partners; and an executive at Hewlett-Packard, including ten years in the professional service/software divisions of HP. Dave has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas. Dave and his wife Julia have two boys, RJ and Sam. He is active in community and non-profit organizations, having founded the Redwood Chapter of National Junior Basketball serving 650 children.

doug tudor

Doug is an operator and investor with diverse experience in acquiring, leading and scaling high-growth businesses. Currently, he is Chairman of Ravenscourt Partners, a private investment firm focused on building middle market, technology-enabled service companies. Ravenscourt Partners invests in businesses with compelling value propositions, strong growth potential and top management teams. He spent most of the prior decade as a senior executive at Asurion, the leading global provider of technology protection services. Prior to that, he raised a search fund and was co-founder and President of Clear Creek Environmental. Doug received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Brown University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jim Edmunds

Jim Edmunds joined Search Fund Partners in 2008 after running a company sourced through the search fund model. Jim and his partner found and acquired Celebrity Kids Portrait Studios, a leading provider of upscale children's photography in 2005. Jim served as President and CFO of the company. He currently participates on the boards of Ascentia, Consumeraffairs.com, Gogotech, and UCIT Online. Before launching a search fund, Jim was an Associate at McKinsey & Company in Palo Alto. Prior to attending business school, Jim conducted business development for PetSmart.com, managed a successful political campaign in Texas, and worked in Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets at Bear Stearns. Jim holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was named a Siebel Scholar, and an A.B. in History from Harvard University. He is the treasurer of Building Futures Now, a non-profit dedicated to helping high potential students in East Palo Alto. He lives in Menlo Park with his wife Christine, daughter Emiko, and son Koji.

Jim Southern

Jim Southern is a founding partner of Pacific Lake Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the search fund model. Earlier in his career, Jim led a team of operators and investors using the search fund model to acquire Uniform Printing, a $43 million printer of specialty insurance documents, where he served as CEO and chairman for 10 years. Investor returns from distributions and exit exceeded 30x the acquisition capital. Jim currently is a director of multiple search fund companies including Arizona College, Raptor Technologies, Fastspring, Vector Disease Control, Alphacredit, Scottish American Capital, and Little Sprouts. Kent Weaver

Mr. Weaver is currently Chairman and CEO of Progressive Home Care, a Northern California-based health care company. Previously, Mr. Weaver held executive positions in marketing and product management for a VC-backed marketing automation startup, as a regional CFO and business analyst in Pepsico's Pizza Hut Division, and as a management consultant at Ernst & Young. He received his MBA from the Fully Employed Program at the University of California, Los Angeles and BS in finance from the University of Southern California. He is currently a board member at VRI, Discovery Outsourcing, Data Fusion Technologies, Onesource Water, Integra Partners and Healthwyse.

Paul L. (Lew) Davies III

Mr. Davies founded The Cambria Group in 1996 and is its Managing Principal. He is an experienced private equity investor, having previously been a Principal in the leveraged buyout groups of both Brentwood Associates and The Fremont Group. Mr. Davies brings experience in all stages of the private equity process - identifying and sourcing opportunities, arranging financing for transactions, building management teams at both the functional and executive levels, assisting with portfolio company acquisition and divestiture programs, and exiting investments. He currently serves on seven corporate boards, as well as serving on the Board of Overseers of the Hoover Institution, the Board of Trustees of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Advisory Council of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He is a former National Trustee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Previously, Mr. Davies worked for Bechtel Group, Inc., a leading international engineering-construction firm, in both operating and financial roles. Mr. Davies' positions in project management, as well as field roles in procurement, construction and startup capacities, provided broad line management experience. In addition, Mr. Davies had leadership roles in Bechtel Enterprises, the company's project financing and investment arm, having opened its office in Saudi Arabia, with responsibility for all Middle Eastern activity, and having worked in numerous capacities in its merchant banking activities. He also served on the team established to secure the release of company personnel trapped during Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. Earlier, Mr. Davies worked in Chevron Corporation's foreign operation staff and was the primary real estate analyst for the company's U.S. and Canadian pension plans. Mr. Davies holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, with distinction, from Stanford University. He also received an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

René Lajous

Mr. Lajous is a Principal with The Cambria Group, working in the firm's Menlo Park office. He participates in all aspects of Cambria's activities, focusing equally on originating and evaluating investment opportunities, negotiating and arranging financing for transactions, and providing oversight for the firm's portfolio companies. He has experience both as a member of and observer to the boards of directors of several private companies. Prior to joining Cambria, Mr. Lajous was a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, a boutique management consulting firm, working in Dallas, Texas and Buenos Aires, Argentina. At BCG, he advised clients in the transportation, energy and telecommunications industries on a variety of issues ranging from strategy and operations to merger and acquisition activity and due diligence. Earlier, Mr. Lajous focused on logistics and operations in the consumer packaged goods industries, working for Procter & Gamble in Canada and Mexico, as well as Pillsbury in Canada. He also draws on broad experience developed leading projects in inventory control and supply chain management for these companies. Mr. Lajous earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, earning the W.S. Wilson Medal for academic excellence. He subsequently received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Rich Kelley

Rich Kelley co-founded Search Fund Partners in 2004. He currently serves on the boards of SFL Data, HemaSource, Verengo, Avadyne, RIA in a Box, ISC, and Medical Positioning, Inc. Rich Kelley has been involved in numerous small businesses and start-up companies as an operator, owner, and investor. His varied experience includes: CFO of Score Learning Centers, CEO of San Jose Giants, General Partner of the Stanford Terrace Inn, developer of houses and subdivisions, owner of office buildings and hotels, investor in successful tech start-ups (Coinstar, PLX Technology, Corcept Therapeutics). He has also invested in many limited partnerships, including venture funds, and has been involved as a search fund investor since 1994. Rich has an MBA from Stanford and a BA from Stanford. Rich and his wife Gina have two children, Riley and Sam. He has served as an elected school board trustee and is active with the Positive Coaching Alliance and Sustainable Conservation as an advisor.

Mr. Addis also served as the strategic planner of a $1.6 billion P&L of Bank of America (Countrywide) through the financial crisis serving 36,000 independent brokers and 54 national support centers with 7,500 employees. Mr. Addis has co-founded several companies, the largest being a wholesale mortgage company with $1.2 billion in annual application volume across 26 states. Mr. Addis has previously held stakes in Titan Club at Four Seasons Hotels, Shearson Mortgage, CSQ Magazine, and Mirage Escrow among others. As a Management Consultant, Mr. Addis served in a wide variety of industries as an interim executive and on a project basis. Steve Dallas

Mr. Dallas has an extensive background in finance, capital raising and business operations. In 1981, Mr. Dallas co-founded First Franklin Financial Corporation, a California-based mortgage banking firm which grew from 4 employees to over 4,000 with annual funding in excess of $100 billion in single family mortgages. Bank of New York and Bank of America were co-agents with First Franklin's warehouse facility. In 2005, First Franklin became a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust Company and serviced more than 35,000 mortgage brokers nationwide. In 1996 Mr. Dallas' Austin-based firm Lakeway Development, partnered with Dong Ah Construction (Korea) to acquire 2,200 undeveloped acres from Ross Perot's Hillwood Development. The Lakeway property was entitled, developed and sold to Credit Suisse First Boston in 1998. Pursuant to the sale, Lakeway Development together with local environmentalists and US Fish and Wild Life, successfully negotiated one of the largest environmental deals in Texas history. In 1998, Mr. Dallas partnered with Lehman Brothers to found United Capital Leasing Corporation, a nationwide small-ticket equipment lender. At its pinnacle, United Capital had a loan portfolio of approximately $1 billion. Mr. Dallas also previously founded and operated an executive home builder, a subprime auto finance firm and a real estate property management and brokerage firm. Mr. Dallas graduated from Wittenberg University in 1979 with dual-degrees in Economics & Business. Tim Ludwig
