Jeff Forbes

Jeff Forbes began his medical career in 2000 as a physical therapist assistant. Jeff became interested in prosthetics in 2002 as a volunteer at Synergy Prosthetic Research Center and was hired at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as a technician in 2003. Jeff became the primary clinical prosthetist for the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics after receiving his board certification through BOC in 2006. Jeff was a student instructor at Hinds Community College Nursing and Allied Health Center for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program and was a guest speaker for the Mississippi State Physical Therapy Association conclave in 2009. Jeff has extensive knowledge of myoelectric and microprocessor devices and has participated in Beta testing of new components for industry manufacturers. Jeff specializes in computer design and manufacturing of prosthetics and has over six years of experience in *RAPID (within 6 hours) computerized prosthetic fittings. He was also recently nominated to serve as an advisor to the Orthotic & Prosthetic Technological Association in developing a standardized fabrication manual for the prosthetic industry. Jeff was recruited to San Antonio in 2011 by a large vascular practice to establish a prosthetics department for the group.
