Andy Gabbert

Andy is a devoted Landscape Architect focused on designing sustainable and successful projects for both the client and the community. With 18 years of professional experience both nationally and abroad, Andy has a solid track record for being a trusted partner through each project phase, from concept through construction. Whether it's developing a masterplan, a home remodeling project, or creating a 3D rendering, Andy's artistic eye and attention to detail are among the many qualities that make for successful projects. When he's not in the office, Andy enjoys drinking good beer and wine and cheering on his alma mater, the Kā€‘State Wildcats. He also loves to travel, spend time with his family, gardening, and barbequing.

Carl Sanders

Job Titles:
  • Senior Construction Observer
Carl joined the RIC team after a long career providing construction management and observation services for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects across the Kansas City Metro area. His 37 years of experience includes 19 years at the Kansas Department of Transportation as a Construction Project Manager and Senior Engineering Technician where he provided daily concrete paving, aggregate base, asphalt, and bridge inspections and served as Materials Department Supervisor for KC Metro projects. Most recently, Carl served as the CIP Project Coordinator for over 8 years at the City of Merriam. There, he provided daily project management and inspections for street and storm projects, managed the yearly County Assisted Road Program, reviewed consultant plans and specifications for compliance, prepared CIP Action Items and monthly CIP Updates for City Council, and prepared and tracked payments to contractors and design engineers. In his free time, Carl enjoys doing handyman crafts and spending time with his three granddaughters.

Chase Kohler

Chase began his career at RIC as an Engineer Intern and quickly became a key member of RIC's transportation team. After working on some of RIC's largest transportation improvement projects, Chase became heavily involved in a variety of land development projects, including healthcare, commercial, residential, retail, and mixed-use developments.

Chip Corcoran - Founder, President

Chip is the founder and president of Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting. When he started RIC in 2010, Chip wanted to create a workplace that valued creative thinking and imagination and a culture that provided employees with a positive work/life balance. His genuine care for employees and clients allows him to lead RIC down the path toward success and longevity. While Chip's experience is extensive, he recognizes the value of diversity and has surrounded himself with thought-leaders that come from a variety of backgrounds. This has allowed us to grow into a full-service firm focused on exceeding client expectations. When he's not working, Chip enjoys training his three dogs, snowboarding in Colorado, fishing and traveling the world.

Curtis Talcott

Curt has over 27 years of experience serving municipalities throughout the Kansas City Metro Area in the design, construction, and management of stormwater, sanitary sewer, and waterline projects. His in-depth knowledge of construction practices ensures projects are planned, designed, and constructed as intended. As a Senior Project Manager, Curt emphasizes communication between the project team members and clients, ensuring projects are completed on-time, on-budget, and meets client standards.

Dustin Burton - SVP

Dusty and his team tackle a variety of land planning and development projects with a wide range of end-uses. Dusty's civil engineering experience ranges from local, municipal roadways to large commercial and industrial developments. This broad experience combined with his knack for meeting small budgets and tight deadlines, quickly made Dusty a vital member to our team. Raising his toddler with his wife takes up a lot of his free time but when he gets a moment to himself, he enjoys reading a good book, brewing his own craft beer, and keeping pests out of his garden.

Grant Niehus

Job Titles:
  • VP, Traffic Engineer
Grant strives to provide innovative technological solutions as well as thorough studies and research to solve the unique traffic challenges that our growing cities are faced with today. For over a decade, Grant worked with adaptive traffic control systems, designed communication systems for traffic devices, and calibrated signal timings using various ATMS platforms including TACTICS, CENTRACS, and atms.now central systems. Grant has also been personally involved in the product development of various radar and thermal vehicle detection software and applications. His experience spans the nation and has worked with a variety of state DOT's, municipalities of all sizes, as well as private entities. In his free time, Grant enjoys traveling and has already been to 12 countries and counting! Grant is also a huge football fan and loves to cheer on his alma mater, the Mizzou Tigers.

Jerry Charlton

As a dedicated Professional Engineer, Jerry has over 3 decades of experience as a bridge engineer and lead structural/civil-site design engineer for public infrastructure projects and private industrial facilities throughout the nation. Jerry consistently delivers projects on-time and within budget through leadership and a commitment to client service and satisfaction. Outside of the office, you'll find Jerry playing a round of golf and catching up with his friends he's known since Kindergarten.

Joe Venneman

Joe has over 27 years of experience supervising and managing the construction for road, bridge, and culvert projects. Prior to joining RIC, Joe served as the Construction Projects Manager for Johnson County Public Works where he managed the construction of over 125 road and bridge projects valued from $100,000 to $6 million. When he's not in the office, Joe enjoys taking road trips to explore the outdoors. He likes to go hiking and fishing in Colorado and is planning on visiting the Caribbean later this year.

Mick Slutter

Always approachable and easy-going, Mick brings a positive energy and can-do attitude to the team. Mick is one of RIC's founding members and has lent his extensive knowledge in site development and public and commercial infrastructure design to help shape RIC's site/civil engineering division. Working directly with developers and architects, Mick has a reputation of providing exceptional customer service through his quick correspondence and ability to meet critical deadlines. When Mick is not busy managing projects, you can find him playing bagpipes with his band and trying Kansas City's wide variety of local craft beers.

Nick Hanaway

Nick is Design Engineer working primarily on municipal stormwater improvements, watermain/line improvements, roadway, and trail design projects. Nick has experience seeing projects through, from conception to construction and has observed the construction of various public and private improvements. Nick is passionate about improving resident's lives through infrastructure improvements and has experience working with neighborhoods on public improvements projects throughout the KC Metro area. In his free time, Nick likes to hike in the mountains or relax on the beach/poolside, play video games, and binge watch shows on Netflix. He is a big fan of travel and has been to England, Italy, France, Ireland, Mexico, and various places across the United States. Nick is also a huge Chiefs fan and is a season ticket holder. Go Chiefs!

Patrick Cassity

Patrick began his career working with survey crews on public infrastructure, residential, and commercial surveys. Patrick is now focused on managing complex land development projects with site layouts, utility coordination, site grading, and the development of plan specifications and estimates. Patrick's well-rounded knowledge of the built environment has made him a valuable leader internally and at the project site.

Randy Zerr

Randy has a 24-year of success overseeing all phases of engineering, land surveying, and construction management for government and private-sector clients. His experience includes managing design teams on multiple commercial, residential, industrial, and capital improvement projects. Randy is extremely knowledgeable with several engineering designs, land surveying field-to-finish operations, construction management systems, and backed by strong credentials and a proven history of on-time, on-budget, and high-quality project completions. Randy grew up in Western Kansas and has lived in Wichita, the KC metro, the Denver metro, and the Des Moines metro. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, attending/watching sporting events, watching movies, and reading.

Roger Dill - EVP

Roger is RIC's Executive Vice President and manages our in-house survey department. Roger has experience managing a variety of projects ranging from basic residential boundary surveys to large commercial ALTA surveys. He has performed surveys for hundreds of miles of roads and numerous bridge projects. Roger continuously strives to expand his knowledge on surveying and business management through his involvement in several local professional survey organizations. In his free time, Roger runs a 500-acre ranch and enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He also enjoys cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs. When he needs a vacation, he likes to visit Jamaica or Florida for some relaxation.

Scott Karagiorgas

Scott is a Project Engineer with over eight years of experience providing civil engineering services on a variety of project types with a strong understanding of both the public and private sides of the industry. He has diverse career experience consisting of site development, public infrastructure, asset management, landfill/solid waste, water resources, and construction management projects. In his free time, Scott likes to spend time with family, reading a good book, and playing basketball. He also has two daughters, both under the age of five, and they keep him busy!

Steve Roberts

Steve has over 39 years of experience providing a wide range of surveys for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other Federal agencies, multiple state DOT's, and several Class I railroads. His Federal portfolio includes complex boundary and topographic surveys, bathymetric surveys, Air Force Base boundary surveys, and photo control surveys. As the Director of Federal Programs, Steve is responsible for ensuring highly accurate surveys are being delivered on-time in the most efficient and economical way. When he's not managing survey crews, Steve enjoys working on his house and spending time with his wife of over 41 years, his three kids, and six grandchildren.

Vincent Zink

Vince not only excels in civil engineering, but also in bowling, hunting, and woodworking. When he was only 12, Vince took the 14th largest Painted Desert Ram ever shot with a rifle. Vince has also bowled 8 perfect games and one 800 series and bowls on a league during the summer with a few other RIC employees.
