Elizabeth A. Dovec, MD, FACS joined GBMC's Comprehensive Obesity Management (COMP) Program in 2013 from Vanderbilt University's Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship Program. She rose internally to become the Medical Director of COMP. A Board Certified General Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she completed her residency at Allegheny General Hospital and earned her medical degree at Marshall University. Active in multiple professional societies, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), Dr. Dovec remains committed to educating, improving, and expanding on the field of weight loss surgery. She has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences and authored abstracts, peer-reviewed pulications, and a laparoscopic gastric bypass operative technique book chapter. She has performed over 2,500 bariatric surgeries at GBMC with exceptional results.
