Alex Thompson - CEO

Alex Thompson is a Director and Managing Partner and is based at our Head Office in Wolverhampton. He provides conveyancing services in respect of residential and commercial property and development. He also deals with Wills and Probate and is a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Alex joined Fowler Langley & Wright, which merged with Underhill's in 2000, as a trainee solicitor in 1998 before becoming a partner in 2003. Alex supports Wolverhampton Wanderers through good times and bad! He also plays for Old Wulfrunians Hockey Club. He has a son and daughter who similarly to Wolves provide joy and despair. Andrew Plimmer

Andrew is an associate solicitor based at our Wolverhampton office. He specialises in Private Client Law including the administration of estates, Wills, Powers of Attorney, the administration of Trusts, inheritance tax and care planning. The Firm's clients are appreciative of his friendly and understanding manner, which quickly puts them at ease. Andrew grew up in and around Wolverhampton and attended the local Grammar School. He qualified as a solicitor in 2014. Having worked for two other local Black Country firms, we were delighted to welcome him to Underhill Langley & Wright in March 2020. In his spare time Andrew enjoys road cycling and running, having completed the Staffordshire Ironman and Chester Marathon, amongst numerous other events.

Angus Smillie

Angus Smillie is a Director and Senior Partner who is based at our Bridgnorth Branch. Angus specialises in conveyancing, Wills and probate services. Qualified in 1981, Angus has been with Underhills since its merger in 2001. In his spare time, Angus enjoys playing tennis, as well as eating and drinking. Jane Alderson

Jane is an Associate solicitor based at our Bridgnorth Office specialising in Residential Property. She has extensive knowledge and expertise in residential conveyancing and specifically sales, purchases, and Leasehold transactions. Jane was admitted as a Solicitor in 1998 having previous practised as a Legal Executive for many years in both city and market town practices. She joined Underhill Langley and Wright in early 2022 after working with a local Shropshire based firm. Outside of work Jane enjoys riding her horse and walking her two Labradors.

Kathryn Willets

Kathryn Willets is a Consultant Solicitor and is based at our Head Office in Wolverhampton. She specialises in Civil Litigation and Family Law. Kathryn qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Underhill Langley & Wright in 2012. Kathryn read Law and Criminal Justice at Wolverhampton University. She obtained a first class degree with honours in 2004 and was also awarded a Law Society Scholarship in the same year. Utilising her award, Kathryn completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Birmingham, with Commendation in 2005. Areas of expertise Family & Matrimonial Law

Lilly Timmins

Lilly is an Associate solicitor based at our Wolverhampton Office. She specialises in residential conveyancing and can assist with a wide range of matters being sales, purchases, buy to lets and leasehold transactions. Lilly qualified as a solicitor in 2018 after completing her law degree at Liverpool John Moore's University. She then went on to complete her LPC at the University of Wolverhampton. Lilly originally started her career at a Shropshire based firm before joining us in early 2022. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her young family and travelling.

Nikyle Bains

Nikyle joined the Residential Conveyancing Department of Underhill Langley and Wright in 2017 and is based at the Wolverhampton Office. Nikyle accepts instructions in relation to a range of residential property matters, including sales, purchases, new build plot purchases and leasehold transactions. Nikyle is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and currently undertaking the final stages to qualify as a Legal Executive. Prior to joining Underhill Langley and Wright, Nikyle worked in criminal practice and has worked on several high profile criminal cases before embarking on a new career within property law. Outside of work, Nikyle enjoys travelling with her young family and attending live music events.

Samuel Brown

Samuel is an Associate Solicitor based at our head office in Wolverhampton. Samuel joined the firm in July 2015 and specialises in civil litigation and family matters.

Stuart Hodson

Stuart Hodson is a director of the firm based at our Wolverhampton Office. He specialises in commercial law providing advice to corporate clients on contractual issues, with a focus upon acquisitions and sales of businesses. He is also involved with a wide range of commercial property transactions. Stuart qualified as a Solicitor in 2003. He grew up in the West Midlands but subsequently moved to Manchester to complete his legal training with an established North West firm. Stuart transferred to a practice in Stafford before joining Underhill Langley & Wright in 2010. Stuart enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and has a keen interest in motor sport and classic cars. Stuart and his family regularly attend events at Shelsley Walsh and Prescott.
