Aggie is an experienced facilitator and consultant. She's worked across the social sector to co-create strategies, campaigns and policies with staff, trustees and volunteers. This includes engaging young trustees, implementing stakeholder feedback into governing documents, and movement building.
Aggie supports organisations with their work on the Charity Governance Code. She has personal experience as the chair of a national youth charity. She's also an expert in inclusive facilitation. She uses non-formal education techniques to lead interactive sessions both in-person and online.
Aggie previously worked as a social change consultant, a project manager and a mental health support worker. She uses a system change approach to problem solving and is passionate about making charity governance accessible.

Alex is one of NCVO's associate consultants, focusing on governance work.
Alex has over 20 years' experience addressing organisational ethics within non-governmental organisations. This includes developing strategies, policies, and frameworks, which integrate ethics within complex operational realities. In 2020, she successfully advocated for the inclusion of power dynamics in the Charity Governance Code's revised integrity principle.
To support sector level work on understanding power, Alex co-founded of Power & Integrity in 2021. She is also a trustee for the Sophie Hayes Foundation and sits on their Risk and Finance committee.

Anne can help you find practical ways to strengthen your governance and respond to change
Dan is NCVO's principal consultant. He oversees the work of our training and consultancy team. He specialises in charity governance and leadership.
Dan joined NCVO in 2016. He oversees our consultancy and training practice, ensuring our services deliver results for clients and meet the needs of the sector. He's sat on the steering group for the Charity Governance Code for the last eight years and has co-authored its last two iterations.
Dan has extensive experience in governance and board reviews, and trustee training. Since joining NCVO he's worked with a wide range of clients from local charities to national and international organisations. He's particularly interested in supporting effective board dynamics, the governance of complex membership organisations, and helping charities make the best decisions for the communities they serve.
Dan's background is in the education and youth sector. He joined NCVO from the National Union of Students (NUS) where he supported the development of students' unions as charities. Dan is currently a governance subcommittee member for an international development charity focused on innovation.

Georgina supports voluntary organisations to plan, know and maximise the difference they make. She delivers tailored consultancy support and external evaluations.
Georgina has worked with NCVO for 15 years. She previously managed NCVO's contribution to sector-wide programmes such as Inspiring Impact, and oversaw the collaborative development of the Code of Good Impact Practice for the sector.
Georgina also runs a community farm, so understands the pressures of finding time for planning and evaluation work. She has first-hand experience of competitive funding situations, working with mixed skills and different levels of enthusiasm for evaluation within an organisation.

Gethyn specialises in helping charities to develop their business, capture their impact and enhance their volunteer programmes.
Gethyn worked across the voluntary sector in England and Wales for 20 years before going freelance in 2020. He has experience working nationally and locally, both at the front line and within infrastructure organisations.
Gethyn mainly works with smaller charities and poorly resourced parts of the sector. Through this he's learned how to do more with less. He now specialises in helping charities to get the most out of the assets they have.
Gethyn is an experienced senior manager and programme lead. He can help you develop new initiatives, correct performance issues, inspire and develop your teams, articulate your impact and develop profitable new partnerships. He's also a specialist in volunteering.
Gethyn held key strategic and operational roles in the London 2012 legacy and in central government during the covid-19 pandemic. He's also worked on the Vision for Volunteering initiative and The Big Help Out campaign.

Gill helps organisations to evaluate their impact and understand what works best. She specialises in evaluation, data collection and analysis, and evidence reviews.
Gill has expertise in the education, charity, health, and economic development sectors. She's worked in evaluation for 15 years, including nine years with NCVO.
Gill also works with large scale research agencies such as NatCen and Kantar Public and runs her own independent research consultancy business.
She recently supported NCVO with an evaluation for St John's Ambulance. She was responsible for combining, analysing and reporting on their monitoring data. This helped the client to understand their impact and demonstrate this to their funders.

Harriet is one of NCVO's associate consultants, focusing on evaluation work.
Harriet was a staff member in the NCVO Charities Evaluation Services team between 2013 and 2021 and is now one of our associate consultants. Harriet has extensive experience of managing independent evaluations, including theory of change-based planning, qualitative and quantitative data collection, reporting and supporting organisations to use evaluation findings.
She also provides training and consultancy on impact. Harriet has worked with organisations including St John Ambulance, the Alzheimer's Society and BBC Children in Need.
Howard specialises in personal and organisational development, strategy and governance, and the management of change.
Howard has over 20 years of experience as a consultant, facilitator, trainer and coach. His background is in psychology, marketing and professional services. He also has general management experience in the private sector.
Howard delivers successful solutions-focused learning, development and capacity-building programmes with individuals, teams and organisations. He advises boards and senior management teams to create value and deliver positive change.
Howard has lived and worked in Europe, Africa and North America. He's also been a trustee and chair of a UK charity. He holds an MSc in Management and is an accredited Belbin team roles consultant.

Jean has over 35 years of experience working with UK charities and their stakeholders. This includes a range of senior roles in both large and small charities.
Jean focuses on strategy and theory of change development. She's worked on strategy development processes for organisations of all sizes. She can help design and facilitate key steps in the process and support stakeholder consultations. She can also help with quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic thinking and learning.
Jean has a deep understanding of all aspects of running a charity. She has a master's degree in charity finance (awarded with distinction). She is currently a trustee and has over 30 years of experience as a board member, including chair and vice-chair roles. She has also been mentoring a charity chief executive for several years.

Jenny is trained in business coaching through City University, and a qualified change manager and project manager. Jenny was previously part of NCVO's in house consultancy team where she led small to large scale projects and designed and delivered training. Before joining NCVO she coached and managed teams of business leaders to support voluntary organisations, social enterprises and charity consortia with strategy, capacity building and board effectiveness.

Joe specialises in strategy development. He can help you create new ways to involve stakeholders and reach people who are often marginalised.
Joe has worked in the voluntary sector for 20 years, with 10 years in senior leadership roles. He has experience in service delivery, development and strategy. This includes running a £50m funding programme for the UK's largest community funder.
Joe specialises in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and anti-racist practice. He helped set up the Baobab Foundation. The Baobab Foundation is the UK's first funder entirely focussed on supporting Black and racially minoritized individuals, groups and organisations.
Joe has sat on ministerial advisory groups and given evidence to select committees. He regularly contributes to radio and TV broadcasts on issues including mental health, suicide prevention, charity finances and trends in civil society.

Karen is one of NCVO's associate consultants, focusing on governance work.
Karen has a wealth of experience of governance in the voluntary sector. She is a trustee of Youth Access and has experience of working at a senior level for a local Mind Association and Cambridge House community settlement project. Whilst working for the National Union of Students, Karen created a Code of Good Governance an interactive online self-assessment toolkit for Students' Unions across the UK.
She also produced guidance for higher education institutions which gained endorsement from the Committee of University Chairs. She is a qualified coach, Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner, trainer and an experienced action learning set facilitator.

Katie has over a decade of experience in volunteer management. She has worked in small, medium and large public sector, voluntary and membership organisations. She has an in-depth understanding of good volunteering practice and volunteering and the law.
Katie is an experienced and engaging facilitator and trainer. She works with a range of participants. These include trustees, senior managers, operational staff and volunteers. Katie runs our open training courses on volunteering and delivers bespoke in-house training.
Outside of her role at NCVO, Katie is the chair of a medium sized charity in the women and girls sector.

Laura specialises in volunteering strategy. She can help your organisation build a volunteering movement in challenging contexts.
Laura has nearly 20 years of experience working in volunteer engagement. This includes strategic roles within organisations.
She has supported dozens of national charities and sporting bodies to rethink their approach to volunteer involvement. She also teaches a volunteer strategy course for the Association of Volunteer Managers.
Laura is a skilled researcher. She's experienced in delivering quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. She regularly works with volunteer managers and volunteers to provide an evidence-based approach to change.
Laura is also an expert in fundraising from trusts and foundations, particularly for volunteer programmes and campaigns. She's a specialist in trustee recruitment and holds a master's degree from the Centre for Charity Effectiveness.

Lev specialises in building consortia, partnerships and strategic collaborations of all kinds. He can help you with commissioning, grant programmes and more.
Lev has worked with NCVO since 2013. He has extensive expertise in building strategic partnerships. These could be between voluntary organisations or between public sector bodies and voluntary organisations.
Lev's experience includes working with NHS England to build governance structures for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) alliances.
Lev helped develop our consortia help and guidance. He also has an interest in the role of local infrastructure organisations. He's supported several of these organisations with strategic planning, policy development and partnerships.
Lev has worked in the charity sector since 1987. He's held many roles including executive director, volunteer manager and business development manager. Lev has served on various boards and currently sits on the advisory board of a local Jewish outreach charity in Islington, London.

Libby is passionate about supporting emerging leaders to develop the knowledge, mindset and connections they need to succeed. She delivers NCVO's leadership development programme - Leaders on Purpose. Her engaging and innovative approaches draw on the latest research and her own experience as a leader within the charity sector.
Libby's consultancy work involves both supporting individual leaders to seize opportunities and overcome challenges, and working collaboratively with leadership and staff teams to identify areas which are holding them back and solutions which will get them back on track. Before joining NCVO Libby worked at a range of organisations focussed on human rights, equality and justice. These included User Voice, Fair Trials, The Law Society and the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Having worked ‘client-side' throughout her career, Libby has first-hand experience of how external consultants can best support change.

Lucy is a consultant, facilitator and trainer. She specialises in evaluation.
Lucy joined our consultancy team in 2022. She has over 10 years of experience in research, evaluation and management in the voluntary, public and higher education sectors.
Lucy supports people and organisations to create social change and improve their work through effective evaluation. She's worked on projects ranging from local community events and social justice campaigns, to multi-million-pound initiatives affecting thousands of people.
Lucy joined NCVO from the University of Manchester. There she led evaluations of initiatives supporting underrepresented groups in higher education. Before that she worked as a researcher for Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Directory of Social Change. She's also managed small charities in the UK and Australia.
Lucy has an MSc Sociological Research from the University of Manchester and a BA Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Liverpool. She's also an ILM qualified coach and mentor. She uses these skills to support charities to develop their evaluation and impact processes and practice.

Milla has worked with UK charities since 2003. Her experience includes working within organisations, supporting funders, as well as providing consultancy. She understands the demands of the voluntary sector, particularly around monitoring and evaluation.
Milla specialises in building capacity and tools to help decision making and communication. She does this through the smart collection and use of data. Milla works through consultancy, training and coaching, or by delivering evaluation and learning projects alongside you as a learning partner.
Milla has studied anthropology, health policy, and social research methods. She's also trained in facilitation, coaching and conflict resolution. She combines years of experience with a light and informal style to help organisations realise their evaluation and learning potential.

Mo has extensive experience working with boards on inductions, Charity Governance Code audits and governance reviews. She brings insights from a range of perspectives, as a volunteer, staff member, chief executive, trustee and consultant.
Mo has worked in the education, youth and human rights charity sectors for more than 25 years. Two decades of this were in senior leadership positions. Her staff roles have included chief executive, director of governance and designated safeguarding lead.
Mo has been a mentor to a range of charity leaders. She was also a turnaround board adviser, chair of an HR subcommittee and chair of a school governing body. She has a BA in politics, an MSc in voluntary sector management and is based in London.

Paul is the director of strategy and transformation at Ambitious about Autism, the national charity for children and young people with autism.
Peter provides senior management teams and boards with interim leadership and organisational development support.
Peter's work focuses on building the capacity of individuals and organisations. Through this, he helps people achieve social, economic and environmental justice, wherever they are.
Much of Peter's experience is in the international development and environmental sectors where he used both grant funding and enterprise models to deliver results and achieve lasting impact. He's worked with funders and grass roots organisations of all shapes and sizes across Africa, Asia and Europe.
Peter was global director of client services at Humentum (previously Mango) where he led a team of expert consultants and trainers. He was also chief operating officer at United Purpose where he oversaw country programme teams and corporate functions.

Rozia specialises in research, evaluation, impact measurement and data assessment.
Rozia has experience in higher education, local government and the voluntary sector. She's managed impact projects for organisations including Breast Cancer Now, the London School of Economics and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coalition. Her most recent role was head of assessment and evaluation at the University of Oxford.
Rozia is experienced in delivering a wide range of research processes, data collection methods and impact measurement tools. She specialises in participatory evaluation approaches. She uses focus groups, interviews and storytelling to identify the most significant change.
Rozia is a passionate advocate for co-creation. She embeds co-creation in her own projects and has evaluated the impacts of co-created projects. This includes an NHS covid-19 project delivered by the University of Manchester.
Rozia is a member of the Museums Association, the UK Evaluation Society, and the Charities Evaluation Working Group. She's also an active member of other UK networks such as the Visitor Studies Group and the Culture Data Research Network. Rozia is a participating member of the ‘People of Colour' evaluators group.

Ruth has worked with NCVO since 2019. She carries out governance and board effectiveness reviews and delivers trustee and strategic planning training. Ruth also supports charities to develop their strategy and provides capacity-building support for local community organisations.
Ruth is an experienced facilitator, trainer and consultant. She supports a wide range of charities to be clear about what they want to achieve and how to make it happen effectively. She adapts her approach to the needs of the organisation. She can help you plan, prioritise and make decisions.
Ruth has worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years. She was previously director for several national youth and education charities. She's also been a trustee of several national charities and is chair elect of a new and fast-growing charity. Ruth has an MSc in voluntary sector management from Bayes Business School (City University).

Sally is one of NCVO's associate consultants, focusing on evaluation work.
Sally has been an evaluation consultant since 1999 and was head of our NCVO Charities Evaluation Services team until early 2021. Sally has been involved in over 30 external evaluations, leading on most.
She is a mixed-methods evaluator with particular expertise in evaluating health and social care programmes and pilot multi-site initiatives. Most of her evaluations focus on process, outcome and impact.
Sally has helped many organisations build their evaluation capacity through training and consultancy, including theory of change and evaluation planning. She also mentors staff in evaluation, working with people new to evaluation and with established evaluators.
Sally has made a significant contribution to the practice of evaluation in the UK, writing some of the first widely-used publications in the field, developing award-winning training and contributing to UK-wide initiatives to improve evaluation skills.
