Cameron Trubey

Dr. Trubey was raised in Brunswick, ME and completed high school at Pine Tree Academy preparatory school in Freeport. He then earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan where he graduated with distinction as a J. N. Andrews Honors Scholar. He completed medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California and then residency in Family Medicine at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Chattanooga. He next received advanced training at the University of Notre Dame - South Bend Sports Medicine program where he completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine. Dr. Trubey has served in the field of Sports Medicine as a physician in football, hockey, soccer, basketball, wrestling, endurance running, track, boxing, weightlifting, and downhill snow sports. He has experience with athletes from high school, college (Div I&III), and advanced backgrounds (USA Boxing and USA Weightlifting) and currently serves as the Head Team Physician for the University of Maine. Dr. Trubey is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine and has published on the topics of concussion, tendonopathy, and sports nephrology. His professional interests include sports-related concussion, diagnostic ultrasound, and functional movement patterns.

D. Thompson McGuire

Dr. McGuire graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After medical school, he did his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. While at Henry Ford, he participated in the care of professional athletes from the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers. After finishing residency, he completed his sports medicine fellowship at Louisiana State University and was an Assistant Team Physician for McNeese State University. Prior to coming to Bangor, Dr. McGuire was a Team Physician at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania. Dr. McGuire currently serves as a Team Physician for the University of Maine, Husson University, Maine Maritime Academy, Thomas College and Bangor High School. He specializes in Sports Medicine which includes non-operative, arthroscopic and open surgical treatment of injuries to the Shoulder, Knee, Elbow and Ankle. He also has an interest in fracture care.

Garrett Martin

Dr. Martin officially retired from DownEast Orthopedics on 12/31/2023. Dr. Martin spent the last 40 years as a dedicated and highly respected orthopedic surgeon. We all can look back at Dr. Martin's career in orthopedics and know he impacted so many lives and had such a positive effect. His presence will be missed not only by DownEast Orthopedics, but the orthopedic community as a whole. We are sad to see Dr. Martin leave, but wish him a fantastic and much deserved retirement. Jacob Brooks

Dr. Brooks is an orthopedic surgeon who provides comprehensive orthopedic care to our community, including sports medicine, total joint replacement, and upper extremity work (including shoulder replacement and fracture [trauma] care). Dr. Brooks is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He attended the University Of New England College Of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Pinnacle Health Hospital Systems in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Dr. Brooks has interests in exercise/fitness, ice hockey and working with youth athletes. He is a Maine native, having grown up in the Dover-Foxcroft area. Dr. Brooks has enjoyed returning to Maine and becoming an integral member in providing superior care for his patients.

Kenneth R. Morse

Dr. Morse was born and raised in the central Maine region. After high school graduation, he pursed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Upon completion, he enrolled in medical school at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts and also pursued research at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Following medical school, he and his family moved to Rochester, New York for an orthopaedic residency. Further sports medicine fellowship training was performed at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Sports Medicine where he learned advanced techniques for the treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle injuries including the double-bundle ACL reconstruction. While there, he also gained exposure to the care of high school, college, and professional athletes such as the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Dr. Morse is the author of many book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles, and has given lectures at the national level. He also serves on the Medical Executive Committee of St. Joseph Hospital and is on the Medical Advisory Board of Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Brewer. He has an interest in minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle joint injuries as well as open complex reconstruction. He is also the Team Physician for the University of Maine and several local area high schools as well as the Assistant Team Physician for Husson University.

Misti Guerin

P. Alex Green

Dr. Green is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder with a particular interest in shoulder and elbow reconstruction including shoulder and elbow replacements. Dr. Green attended SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT. He then completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Green is a board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Prior to attending medical school Dr. Green was a licensed physical therapist for 6 years. He joined the practice in November of 2016 after working at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI for 3 years.

Stephen Walsh

Dr. Walsh was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa earning a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. After spending a year backpacking and skiing throughout the western United States he completed his medical degree at the University of Iowa. There he pursued orthopedic research that combined his engineering expertise and growing interest in orthopedic surgery. His orthopedic residency training was completed at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. There he met wife and they decided to settle in Maine following his hip and knee replacement fellowship at Rush University in Chicago. Rush University is one of the original pioneers of minimally invasive and outpatient hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Walsh helped to establish the Total Joint Center of Excellence at Eastern Maine Medical Center and has been the medical director since its inception. He collaborated with the anesthesia department at EMMC publishing 2 scientific articles in addition to multiple book chapters and scientific articles published throughout his career and training. He has continued to use his engineering background to innovate several orthopedic devices. He is the first surgeon in the state of Maine to utilize a unique robotically aided technology in knee replacement surgery and looks forward to exploring future developments to maximize patient outcomes.
