JBU - Key Persons

​JBU (James Backhouse Upholstery) is based in Whangaparaoa, Auckland, New Zealand and provides furniture reupholstery services throughout Auckland and beyond. James Backhouse has been working as an upholsterer for 36 years. For 11 years James had his own business in London, where most of his very discerning clients were located in the West End and City. James also completed many upholstery commissions for English Country Houses, Mansions and Manors. Working on antiques and heirlooms is James' speciality, as he is skilled in traditional upholstery techniques that few other upholsterers in Auckland are able to offer. James has become well known for his work in New Zealand, and is the go-to upholsterer for private clients and interior designers. James Backhouse is a craftsman upholsterer and a specialist in traditional upholstery techniques.
