John C. Petrie became involved in his profession because he was a partner in a law firm, and became intrigued by the knowledge and information technology aspects of the legal practice. Mr. Petrie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Queensland, and later earned his Bachelor's Degree in Law. He holds AIMM, MIIM, BCOM and LLB accreditations, and he is an Associate Member of the ABA, a member of the Institute for Information Management, the IEEE, ACM, AIIM and the Australian Institute of Management. Mr. Petrie champions a number of worthy causes, including various charitable organizations, the Australian Red Cross, UNHCR and Amnesty International. With nearly four decades' worth of professional experience under his belt, Mr. Petrie champions the initiatives of Norton Rose, one of the largest leading global law firms in the world, which recently merged with Fulbright & Jawolski on June 3 rd 2013 to become a firm that is now available in every continent except Antarctica, as far as servicing large corporate clients.
