My name is Jeffery Hall. I have taught for over 11 years and I am in my 3rd year as an administrator. My favorite part of being in education is that I love working with students to overcome obstacles and become better people together. My goal is to always understand a person's perspective before taking action. I believe education, in all its shapes and forms, goes hand in hand with finding fulfillment in life. I have a bachelor's in elementary education and a master's in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix. I completed the administration program with Utah State University. I also have a technology endorsement from Southern Utah University and have graduated from the E-mints program, which is a 2 year program that helps teachers integrate technology into the class in a way that will give students a more in-depth learning experience. The Granite Association has recognized me for teaching Gifted Children because of my use of technology in the classroom. I have also worked as a technology specialist for Granite School District. I have been recognized by the Utah State Board of Education as a top five finalist for teacher of the year in Utah. Plus, I won on the "Price is Right" playing Plinko. Mary Murphy

Job Titles:

Hello, I am Mary Murphy, and I am excited to counsel Scholar Academy students as they transition out of the elementary level and into the secondary level of their education! The goal of the Scholar Academy School Counseling program is to help to set your students on the pathway to a successful high school and college experience and eventually happy life and great career. I obtained a bachelor's degree from Utah State University in Family and Consumer Science and taught at a 7-12 grade school for three years. I completed my master's degree in School Counseling from the University of Utah and spent 30 years working as a school counselor for Tooele County School District. I began counseling students at Scholar Academy when the school added the junior high school program in 2018. During my career I have received several awards including: School Counselor of the Year from Tooele High School, School Counselor of the year for the State of Utah from the Utah School Counselors Association (USCA), and the Planning for Life Award for the State of Utah from the US Army. I was elected by school counselors across Utah to be the Secondary Level Vice President of USCA. I served in that position for 3 years and then I was appointed Executive Assistant for USCA and served for 2 more years in that capacity. I love to read, cook, spend time with my beautiful grandchildren, have fun outdoors, play puzzle games and create. My latest adventure has been making projects with stained glass. I am excited to be working with the students, parents and all the great staff at Scholar Academy!
