Alessandra Castañeda

Alessandra is a bilingual Research Assistant for SVRC. She has a bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology from CETYS Universidad Campus Mexicali, as well as a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Alessandra has experience in the area of counseling for adults and evaluation on psychological and neuropsychological scales. She is currently developing her skills in pre-screening and identifying participants for our current studies from our internal database, incoming referrals from social media ads, incoming referrals from the community, and central recruitment campaigns.

Bernardo Ng - Founder

Dr. Ng is a Mexicali native who started his private practice in Imperial County in 1994. He became a Medical Doctor at the University of Nuevo Leon in 1987. After completing his year of social service in the city of Monterrey in 1988, he entered specialized training in Psychiatry, in El Paso Texas in 1989 and continued in San Diego California in 1992. Dr. Ng is currently the principal investigator for Sun Valley Research Center, Inc. He completed a year of subspecialty training in Psychosomatic Medicine right before moving to Imperial County, California. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry and in Psychosomatic Medicine, as well as by the Mexican Board of Psychiatry. He is also a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He has served as chairman and member of the Physician Wellbeing and Bioethic committees at both local hospitals ECRMC and PMH. He is a consultant at various organizations and clinics. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Imperial County Medical Society, the San Diego Psychiatric Society and the American Medical Association.

Diana Villalobos

Dr. Alidad M. Zadeh

Dr. Alidad M. Zadeh, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over fifteen years of experience. He completed his medical residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California, from 2007 to 2010, and soon after his graduation he started providing patient-centered medical services to the Imperial Valley. During his trajectory Dr. Zadeh has held multiple leadership roles including president of Premier Patient Care IPA, president of ANZ Clinics, and Board member of MedCare Partners Health Plan. At Sun Valley Research Center, Dr. Zadeh is a Sub-Investigator, a psychometric rater and our leading physician in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Ernesto Tiznado

Dr. Ernesto Tiznado is a board-certified pediatric neurologist. Dr. Tiznado has been working on clinical research with our office since 2016. He is trained on GCP's and completes all the necessary trainings per protocol for each study.

Emilia Alcala

Emilia started with our office as of November 2021 and is a bilingual research assistant/recruiter and she is responsible for pre-screening and identifying participants for our current studies from our internal database, incoming referrals from social media ads, incoming referrals from the community, and central recruitment campaigns. She will also be assisting with various other delegated tasks as needed for various ongoing studies. Emilia is currently attending Imperial Valley College and working on her Associates in Psychology and her estimated graduation date is January 2022. After Imperial Valley College she will be transferring to San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus to work on her bachelor's in psychology.

Erike Apolinar

Erike is a bilingual and licensed Marriage and Family therapist as of 2016. Prior to being licensed, Erike has worked as a therapist in various therapeutic areas in Mexicali, BC, Mexico and Imperial Valley since 2000. Erike works as a licensed therapist for Sun Valley Behavioral Medical Center, Dr. Bernardo Ng's private practice and also works as a sub investigator and rater on clinical research studies with SVRC as of 2015. Erike has a master's degree in counseling and education and received a bachelor's degree in psychology. He has experience conducting various cognitive rating scales on pediatric, adolescent, adult and elderly patients such as the CDRS-R, CGI, K-SADS, BRIEF, SNAP-IV and many other assessments. Erike's experience in all the clinical research studies and assessments he has administered are listed on his current research CV. He is also trained on SVRC, Inc.'s standard operating procedures and has a current GCP training/certification.

Judy Galindo

Judy Galindo is the Director of Research and has been working with SVRC, Inc. since October 2007 as a bilingual certified clinical research coordinator (ACRP). Judy supervises all clinical research staff and oversees all the studies to ensure all staff are following the protocol, schedule of events, study visits and site SOP's. She is responsible for contracts and budgets for all studies and helps with regulatory documents for all new studies. She also assists with advertising and outreach for all studies, setting up agreements or MOA with local clinics in Imperial Valley to collaborate with other physicians on referrals for all research studies. She ensures all staff are up to date with their trainings and assists with training any new research staff. Judy has worked on over 105 protocols, she previously worked for a sleep disorders research center in San Diego, California for several years before working with SVRC. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and experience with working on various therapeutic areas in research. Judy has assisted with administering various cognitive rating scales, patient scales and other assessments over the past several years as well has experience using various EDC and IVRS systems which are listed on her CV. Judy is trained on the SVRC's standard operating procedures and has a current GCP training/certification. She also is currently certified as a Clinical Research Contract Professional through MAGI.

Leslie Michelle Dowling

Michelle has been with SVRC, Inc. since July 2012. She started off as a bilingual research assistant and phlebotomist with SVRC, Inc. and is now a bilingual research coordinator as of 2016. She has worked as the primary or back-up coordinator on over 52 clinical research studies. Michelle has a current license/certification as a phlebotomist. She also attended Imperial Valley College from 2004-2006 and was pursuing an associate's degree in Spanish and Teaching. She also has several years of experience working on various EDC/IVRS systems, as well as administering various cognitive/subject/parent/caregiver scales and questionnaires for studies in various therapeutic areas. Michelle's experience in all the clinical research studies and assessments she has administered are listed on her current research CV. Michelle is also trained on SVRC, Inc.'s standard operating procedures and has a current GCP training/certification, as well as being IATA certified.

Pedro Rodriguez

Dr. Rodriguez was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California. Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, and his master's degree in occupational health from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. Dr. Rodriguez has vast experience in psychosocial behavior and has been the medical coordinator and medical manager across multiple international companies. As of 2023, Dr. Rodriguez has joined our team as a Clinical Research Coordinator and looks forward to contributing to our community's mental health care.

Selenia Martinez graduated from Imperial Valley College with an associate in general science in 2015 and is currently a bilingual CPR certified-research assistant and certified phlebotomist technician here at Sun Valley Research Center. Selenia has over five years of experience in the outpatient and hospital setting. .

Victor M. Samperio

Job Titles:

Born and raised in Baja California Mexico, Dr. Samperio received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California - Mexicali. After completing a series of clinical rotations in the Texas Medical Center (Houston, Texas), he started working in clinical research where he quickly developed an affinity towards early phase trials in Oncology and Hematology. Dr. Samperio is a certified clinical research coordinator currently working as our Research Director and Sub-Investigator. Outside of our office, Dr. Samperio is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine - Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, and is a mentor to international medical graduates at International Medical Observers of Houston. As of 2023, Dr. Samperio has completed the United States Medical Licensing Examinations required for eligibility to medical residency and will be applying to Internal Medicine this summer.
