​Putting agricultural lands under protection means keeping that land in our agricultural economy, and producing more food available to buy locally in Cecil County. This reduces the environmental impact of transporting that food, and supports our local economy. Cecil Land Trust is dedicated to supporting local farmers and small businesses... Since 1998, Cecil Land Trust (CLT) has worked with the community and conservation partners to assist property owners in protecting their farm and forest lands... Through our network of volunteer Board members, landowners, friends, and allies, we also strive to encourage sustainable agricultural practices on conserved properties and to promote the economic importance of sustainable local food production and agro-tourism to our region
