The Piano Technicians Guild (PTG) is a not for profit association of piano technicians with members worldwide. The PTG has two major functions: to provide education for professional piano technicians and to operate an examinations program to qualify technicians as Registered Piano Technicians (RPT)... Associate membership is granted upon joining the Guild while becoming a Registered Piano Technician is earned by passing a set of rigorous, standardised examinations. There are three tests: written, technical and tuning. All examinations have a passing grade of 80%.
