Dr. Marnie Loomis is a naturopathic physician, author and speaker known for her warm, caring nature. Since starting practice in 2000, Dr. Loomis has enjoyed helping her patient's live life to the fullest. She is passionate about identifying and treating a wide range of neuroendocrine (hormone) disorders which often go ignored or misdiagnosed. Symptoms can include fatigue, depression, anxiety, insomnia, delayed healing, poor memory, moodiness, difficulty concentrating, weight gain, weakness, exercise intolerance, menstrual problems or low libido. She loves helping patients to finally feel like themselves again. She is excited to join the team at Blyss where she offers hormone testing and treatment with bioidentical hormone replacement. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common cause of treatable hormone deficiencies that can last even years after an accident. Hormone replacement can also help patients who are experiencing menopause, andropause, unexplained fatigue, ADHD, hypothyroidism, burnout or erectile dysfunction. In addition to treating patients with bioidentical hormones, Dr. Loomis uses botanical medicine, nutrition, prescription medications and physical medicine. Dr Loomis is co-author of the book, "Save Yourself From Burnout: A Guide for Getting Your Life Back", published by Bouclier Press. Copies are available online at major booksellers including Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Powells.com. She earned a BS from Michigan State University and a ND from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), (formerly the National College of Naturopathic Medicine). She has served as managing editor for the Naturopathic Doctor News and Review (NDNR), staff physician for Labrix Clinical Services, program coordinator for the AIHM Interprofessional Fellowship, director for two of NUNM's departments, and adjunct faculty member at NUNM teaching nutrition, clinical/physical diagnosis, doctor/patient relationship, and psychology. Dr. Loomis lives in the Portland metro area with her two children and their dog Gibson. She is often out salsa dancing at one of Portland's fabulous dance venues.
