Janice Demers has worked in the field of substance abuse as a Case Manager and Interventionist since 2014. She also runs her own facility in Summerland, BC. Her philosophy is "helping individuals develop a deep love and respect for themselves and others by communicating and sharing ideas." As a case manager, she knows that no two individuals are the same, so her programs cater to the individual's needs. She recognized a major problematic area: a person in the grips of addiction refusing treatment. Most family members are not knowledgeable or equipped to deal with such issues. Janice Demers decided to get certified in 5 different fields, including Intervention.

Marc Bernard has been professionally active in the field of substance abuse since 1998. He held administrative positions as a director of services and counselor's aide in a private drug rehab until 2012. During those 14 years, he had the opportunity to train in the United States at an international training center. He has done courses such as withdrawal management, detoxification, and life skills. After an intensive schedule, he was certified as a case manager. He successfully managed nearly a thousand cases during that time. Substance abuse is not unfamiliar to him, having struggled with addiction as a teenager and a young adult. He was able to overcome his addiction and live a drug-free life. His own personal experience, coupled with having worked with substance abusers in a private treatment facility for 14 years, gives him insight into substance use disorder. He knows the compulsive nature of this issue and the damage it generates all around. He has been helping others meet their recovery goals, making it his life mission.

For those of you reading, first and foremost, you are not alone. Susan is a godsend. Throughout my struggle with substance abuse, it took me a while to really commit to any program because I thought I could do things on my own. Learn on my own and figure things out on my own. In my case, that was totally wrong. And with the hard work that Susan had put in with me, I started to realize I was shutting out the support I really needed. Susan Chubbs is a substance abuse treatment specialist. She has more than 15 years of experience working with families and people suffering from addiction issues. Her understanding and background in addiction and its consequences make her a valuable resource for struggling families. Susan's aptitude for actively listening and providing feedback is one of her most outstanding qualities. Callers appreciate and welcome her straightforward approach. In talking and asking questions, she guides people toward appropriate resources, whether addiction counseling, medical detox, or long and short-term treatment. She can determine the most appropriate course of treatment for their individual needs. Her Role as Coach In addition, Susan works with families to coach them to get their loved ones to accept the necessary treatment. She also collaborates with centers and interventionists across Canada to get the needed help for the individual. She also follows up with families and monitors their progression. Susan is also very successful at getting people to see they need help. Knowing how important rehab is in substance abuse, she can easily convey it, and people are inspired to stay the course. Experience Susan started working for an international private treatment center in Quebec in 2004. She is a professionally trained withdrawal management specialist and has gotten countless people through this step of rehabilitation. She also held the position of Rehabilitation Services Supervisor, caring for and being in close contact with not only the residents but the families. She saw first-hand how addiction strains a family and tears relationships apart. She knows addiction affects the whole family and made it her life goal to help those gripped by it. In 2014, she joined the team at Addiction Referral and Consultation Services. She operates the phone line and helps families across Canada find affordable solutions to substance misuse. Susan is also the lead coach for Addiction Recovery Coaching and has successfully gotten numerous people through this online service.
