GORDON

Born December 17, 1963, Gordon is a graduate of the University of Alberta (1987), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Russian Language, and Minor in Economics. He completed one year of graduate studies in the Master of Arts (Russian Linguistics) program before he went to work at the Communications Security Establishment of Canada (CSEC) in Ottawa as a transcriber and analyst. In 1992 he began his studies in Law at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, earning his LL.B. in 1995. With funding from the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada Professional Partnerships Program, he did summer studies in Russian and Ukrainian corporate and securities regulations in Ukraine in 1994. In 1997 he returned to Alberta and was called to the Alberta Bar in the same year.
