Jason grew up in Southside Jamaica, Queens and was an all-American athlete. He played baseball up until his mid-20s, but his talent later evolved from the field to fashion. Jason envisioned a style that worked for him; a style he transitioned into a lifestyle. He acquired a penchant for bow ties and wanted to show that it wasn't just paired with formal wear; it could be incorporated into an everyday look. Powell started designing bow ties in his basement, along with cuff links, pocket squares, and lapel flowers. He looked to rich fabrics such as silk, cotton, woven, and masonry material to create his designs. Bow ties became his signature look; it was a dominating blend of sporty and trendy. His style eventually converted into a lifestyle, which is where his slogan "Bow Tie Life" established from. Powell depicts it as not just wearing a bow tie for form or fashion, but as defining who you are with character, empowerment, style and grace; embracing your inner trendsetter. His collection is currently designed for men and women but he plans to exceed this demographic. He foresees his brand in renowned department stores and progressively opening his own luxury men's store as well as a distribution center. Powell also intends to broaden his collection to men's vest, shirts, and suits. Fashion isn't all that Jason caters to; he hosts several charity events for the youth by raising funds for scholarships; education is his emphasis. Jason's innovative spirit, entrepreneurship skills, and golden heart will certainly propel him in the industry.
