MCS - Key Persons


Allen Davisson

Allen Davisson has been with MCS for 24 years. He has two children who both attend MCS. Luke is a Junior and Sarah is a 7th Grader. Allen's favorite thing about MCS is the "Charger Family." He went on to say that "It is made up of students, parents, faculty, and staff. Our Charger student athletes excel in the classroom and in competitive sports through hard work. We get to know our students very well and have a fun faculty. We are concerned about our students' lives spiritually and desire to prepare them for the future." A unique fact about Mr. Davisson is that he went to the 1984 Olympics. Allen teaches Spanish, boys' P.E. and Health, High school and Jr. high history; Jr. High spelling and reading. In addition to that, he is our school's Athletic Director. Allen's favorite verses is Isaiah 40:28-31.

Cheryl Cron

Cheryl Cron has been teaching with us 15 years. She is our science teacher but she is also a registered nurse. Along with teaching at the school she also teaches at Massillon Baptist College and works in the bookkeeping office. She is a lady of many talents. One of the things that Cheryl is thankful for is she has been able to teach both her sons and some of her grandkids in school. Her son graduated from MCS back in 2002. Mrs. Cron teaches Earth and Space Science, Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology. She also teaches all the labs that go with those classes.

Dan Combs

Dan Combs has been teaching Sunday School for over 40 years. Both Dr. Bruce D. Cummons and Dr. J. Vernon McGee were Dan's mentors. He also was able to serve with Pastor Cornell in Uhrichsville for 14 years. Mr. Combs is our Jr. High and Highschool boys Bible teacher. He has been with us for 2 years now. When asked what his favorite thing is about MCS he answered, "It is such a privilege to be able to share God's word in a Christian school and for that to be the focus." He has been serving on our school board for 16 years. His favorite Bible story is Moses crossing the Red Sea.

Dr. Cecil Thayer

Dr. Cecil Thayer has been Pastor of Massillon Baptist Temple and the administrator of Massillon Christian School for 16 years. He has four sons and two of them graduated from MCS in 2012 and 2011. Pastor was a missionary to South Africa for 10 years before returning to Massillon. When asked what his favorite thing about MCS, he answered, "The awesome opportunity to influence tomorrow's leaders for the cause of Christ. Our Christ centered educational system reaches far beyond the classroom in preparing students for whatever career field God chooses for them." His favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58 which reminds him that if we are faithful and consistent labor for the Lord it will not be a waste of time, but will return eternal dividends.

Jeanne Nicolini

Jeanne Nicolini is a 1985 alumnus of MCS! She has three children who all graduated from MCS. She has been teaching for 28 years and has spent 23 of those years here with us. Her favorite thing about the school is that she can talk freely about Christ and she can lead students to Him. Jeanne's favorite scripture is Psalm 121. Some fun facts about Mrs. Nicolini are that she loves to hike, explore, and swim in waterfalls. She has 2 cats and dog that "help" her work in her gardens. The little cat will even play tag with her. Jeanne plays the piano and the nose harp! She teaches Advanced Math and Calculus. She also keeps in touch with our missionaries and organizes our missionary prayer packets and mission board.

Karen Palmer

Karen Palmer's favorite thing about MCS is that every day is "Bring your Bible to School Day!" She has been working at MCS for 22 years. She has two boys that graduated from here in 1999 and 2000. Karen enjoys reading, biking, snow skiing and of course ice cream! One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 16:11- "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Mrs. Palmer is the 5th and 6th Grade teacher. In addition to that she also teaches 7th Grade Math, and the 4th-6th Grade Bible class.

Karen Schulze

Karen Schulze is a 1985 MCS alumnus! She has 3 children, two who have graduated from MCS and the youngest, Gracie is a senior this year! Her favorite thing about MCS is that it's a family. She loves that she gets to talk about the Lord to her students whenever she wants, in any subject. Karen has been teaching at MCS for 19 years. Some fun facts about Mrs. Schulze are that she is a competition junkie and that she loves to nap. She met her husband here at MCS when they were in the 3rd Grade. Karen's favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31. Mrs. Schulze teaches 1st and 2nd Grade. She also teaches junior high and high school girls' P. E. and health.

Maranda Higgins

Maranda Higgins has been teaching at MCS for 20 years. Her favorite Bible verse is Matthew 5:16. Some fun facts about Maranda are that she had a pig named Iris, and one time she woke up standing on her bed in the "surfing" position. When we asked her what her favorite thing about MCS was she said, "I love teaching about how the Lord is a part of every subject area and every area of life! I'm so thankful for the people (little and grown) that God has brought into my life through MCS. Some of my closest friends are former parents of children who were in my class, and I enjoy keeping in touch with students who are now adults too (They grew up even though I didn't!)." Mrs. Higgins teaches the 3rd & 4th Grades. She also is the cheerleading coach.

Melissa Dragomir

Melissa Dragomir has been a teachers' assistant at MCS for 6 years. She has two daughters who are in the school, Ruthie in 10th Grade and Hannah in 9th Grade. Mrs. Dragomir's favorite Bible verses are Proverbs 3: 5&6- "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Mrs. Dagomir loves birds, flowers, and anything that is blue! Her favorite thing about MCS is that we teach the Bible. Melissa helps out in a lot of different areas, but most of the time you will find her helping with the 1st Grade. She does elementary computer classes, K-6th Gym class, 1st & 2nd grade reading and spelling. She also assists Mrs. Hartline. ​

Rebecca Hartline

Rebecca Hartline has been teaching at Massillon Christian School for 42 years! She has also been principal for 13 of those years. Her favorite thing about MCS is the Christian family relationships. Her favorite chapter is Psalm 139. Mrs. Hartline has a son who graduated in 2012 from MCS. Her grandson, Ashton is a 1st grader this year! Some fun facts about Rebecca are that she collects elephants, sailboats, and fancy dolls; and her favorite color is orange. Mrs. Hartline helps her husband coach the junior high and varsity girls' basketball teams. Mrs. Hartline teaches junior high and high school girls Bible class, British Literature, American Literature, World Literature, Senior English, College-Prep English, Psychology and Sociology.

Stefanie Oesch

Stefanie Oesch has been working as a teachers' assistant at MCS for 8 years, in the areas of 1st and 2nd Grades Reading and Spelling, elementary library, Grades K-6th art. She also assists Mrs. Hartline. Two of Stefanie's children have graduated from MCS in 2020 and 2021. She has three boys who are currently at MCS. Joseph is a junior, Matthew is a 7th Grader,- and Isaac is a 3nd Grader. Stefanie's favorite thing about MCS is that it feels like you're with family. Her favorite Bible passage is Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.

Tami Crecco

Tami Crecco has been teaching at MCS for 15 years. She has a daughter who currently attends MCS- Isabella, who is a 10th Grader. Last year her other daughter graduated from here. Her favorite thing about MCS is that she loves being able to be with her own children all of their school career in a Christian environment! Some unique facts about Mrs. Crecco is that she could shop for 24 hours straight! She once said, "I would NEVER teach kindergarten," but now she is in her 13th year of it and she loves it! She also teaches 1st-3rd grade Bible class and 2nd & 3rd grade history. Her favorite verse is Romans 8:28. In addition to teaching Kindergarten, Mrs. Crecco also teaches K-3 Bible class. ​​

Victoria Mishler

Victoria Mishler has been with MCS for 22 years. She said, "My favorite thing about MCS is I love to be with the students every day. I love learning how we can live a successful Christian life by following God's commands and principles. What a blessing it is to share Scripture with the students I teach." Victoria has had two of her sons graduate from MCS. Her favorite scripture is Nehemiah 8:10c -"The joy of the Lord is your strength." Some fun facts about Mrs. Mishler are she's not short; she's fun-sized. Piano is her passion. She has 5 sons and 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Victoria teaches elementary music, junior high English along with junior high and high school choir and band. She also is in charge of the drama department.
