Founded in the early 1990s and located in Harley, Ontario, the Mushroom Producers Cooperative Inc. (MPCI) produces high quality mushroom substrate or compost that provides the nutrients needed for mushrooms to grow in. MPCI has evolved over the past two decades into a superior mushroom composting operation implementing innovative technologies developed largely in Europe for the production of mushroom compost... At MPC we convert these main ingredients into mushroom substrate through a very specific process, which, at times, causes distinct odours. We are committed to working with the community to mitigate and reduce these odours to normal farm practice standards controlled through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs... MPCI produces the compost within which mushrooms are grown. We are committed to working with the community to reduce mushroom compost odours.
