Byron hails from Port Elizabeth and after working in Cape Town for a while, the call to come back to Port Elizabeth was very strong. Both the marketing and restaurant industries proved to not be his cup of tea, but he really found his passion when he started in the property industry 16 years ago. He worked as a letting agent to start with and after building up a great network, he found himself with Staytoday Properties as Commercial agent.
He has just gone from strength to strength and continues to inspire colleagues and clients alike with his huge amounts of passion and energy.
Jurie grew up in Port Elizabeth and returned home after completing a B Com Hon degree at UCT. During his stay in the Western Cape he worked for a large international finance company, only to discover that this was totally not his vibe.
He decided to start an estate agency right at the start of the 2008 credit crunch; not the greatest timing, but it all worked out in the end!
In his spare time, Jurie spends a lot of hours in the ocean and enjoys the odd triathlon. He has recently taken up bee keeping as a hobby.
After spending her childhood and completing high school in Port Elizabeth, Karin travelled to England for a "gap year" and returned home 8 years later. She couldn't find her dream job in London after 3.5 years, so she then went on to work on cruise ships, where she managed the on board Spa. Even though she loved seeing the world and living on a floating hotel, the urge to come back home became stronger with each visit to PE in between contracts, so when Jurie called to talk about his big idea, the decision was easy!
Karin is happily married to an awesome guy named Francois and in her spare time, she is trying her absolute best to raise a model child.
Karin Malan joined the team in the same year, and quickly became a partner in the business. Even though Charles has subsequently left the property industry, we are grateful for his efforts in the initial setup of the business, and he remains a friend of Staytoday.
Born and bred in Port Elizabeth, his dad is a Foong and mom a Forlee, therefore carrying two of PE's household surnames. Basically born in a corner shop, he found a love and passion for service and marketing. Struggling to decide what to study, he dived head first into the family business, where he sharpened his skills and built his network.
After much thought into how he can earn money without staff or stock… and realizing that he can't write a book or sing, real estate was right up his ally. Kurt is married to Tamlyn, they have two boys and enjoy quality time together. In his spare time he enjoys playing cricket, poker and a braai with friends.
Madeleine is the real boss in our office. She is our receptionist and office assistant and runs this well-oiled machine. She has lived in Port Elizabeth all her life, spending quite a few years as a home executive, but after her children were all grown up she decided to spread her wings. She worked in the customer service industry for 4 years and then really found her home here at Staytoday Properties.
Madeleine is a home body who loves her home and her furry child and she also enjoys socialising with friends.
Maliska is an Eastern Cape farm girl and after matriculating in 2005 and some general jittering about, she joined the property industry in 2012 and has never looked back. She started right at the bottom as an admin assistant, gained a lot of experience in rentals, and is now a very successful sales agent.
Maliska is happily married to Bernard and has two over indulged furry kids, Mila and Max.
Maritza Tessendorf epitomizes integrity, energy, hard work, and creative service in every detail of a real estate transaction. Maritza grew up in the North West area specifically Mooi Nooi. She moved down to the Eastern Cape at the age of 10 and never left. She has continued growing her career and clients and has since built a successful career in real estate for over 13 years in the East London area and relocated in 2019 to Port Elizabeth. She has been a commercial broker since 2018 and has concluded many successful placement.
Maritza is family orientated with a devotion to her faith and to her family. Married to Shane Tessendorf in 2001 and they have two sons Ethan and Connor.
Peggy has lived in PE all her life and she obtained an Honours degree in BA Psychology from NMMU. She spent a number of years in the banking industry and found her true calling as a letting agent as she really enjoys the fast pace of moving people into new homes every month. She is a problem solver and definitely one of the most experienced letting agents in Port Elizabeth.
Peggy is a big animal lover and she lives in Theescombe with her two beloved cats, Oliver and Felix. Oliver is a boy and Felix was also a boy, until she discovered that "he" was on heat.
