Demet Dagdelen holds a Master's degree in New Media from the University of Amsterdam and has experience in studying flow of information and structure of communication online using Big Data, her academic interests revolve around Computational Social Science. She graduated with a degree in Communication and Media Studies from ELTE, Budapest and studied towards a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics at ELTE. She is now studying Computer Science in Budapest on a part-time basis while working as a freelance Data Analyst. She has worked as a Social Media Analyst at fn.hu, and as a Data Analyst at The Next Web Labs in Amsterdam, where she designed influence metrics, machine learning and network science algorithms for two of TNW's startups (Qwitter and Twitter Counter). She mainly uses R, and is thinking of making the final switch to Python's scikit-learn.
