Dr Darcie Nottage has been working at Clare Medical Centre since 2018, and has worked in rural South Australia since 2015. She has worked in rural hospitals, rural general practice and has done extended training in Emergency Medicine at Lyell McEwin Hospital.
Darcie's husband Tom has moved to Clare in 2021 for his General Practice training and also works at Clare Medical Centre - they welcomed their first child in September 2021. She enjoys spending time in nature, playing board games and reading. She is passionate about the environment and works towards reducing her impact by eating a plant-based diet, buying second hand and striving to live a low-waste live-style.
Dr Darcie Nottage's medical interests include LGBTQIA+ health, sexual health, neuro-affirmative care, emergency medicine, children's health, holistic weight management, lifestyle medicine and preventive health. She is dedicated to providing empathetic and equitable care for all her patients, and a safe and welcoming environment for neurodivergent people.

Dr Geordie Beath started at Clare Medical Centre in 2019. He completed his degree at the University of Adelaide, before working in Port Augusta, Kadina, Wallaroo, Murray Bridge and Adelaide.
Geordie enjoys the breadth of Rural General Practice including clinic consulting, emergency medicine, hospital medicine and nursing home management. His medical interests include anaesthesia, preventive health, men's health, children's health and aged care. He is also a Remote Emergency Retrieval Doctor who attends onsite for emergencies when required.
In his own time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, reading, hiking and running. You may see him regularly on Saturday mornings at the local parkrun setting pace while pushing a pram. Geordie is a super driven, super organised GP that loves to run on time. He embraces the challenges that a Rural GP may face on a normal working day and does so with great efficiency.
Geordie loves to share his skills and knowledge with others and is a huge advocate for improving medical services to the rural community. He has a logical mind and loves a well-executed excel spreadsheet.
A stalwart of the Clare Medical Centre, Dr James McLennan has been serving the Clare and surrounding communities since 1989. James has an interest in anaesthetics, counselling, chronic pain management and addictive medicine.
As a doctor servicing Clare for over 30 years, there isn't much that James hasn't seen. His wealth of experience makes him a well-respected senior figure at the practice whom others turn to for advice. Not just for medical related issues, but if you are considering purchasing anything; cycling, vehicle or camping related, then he is worth speaking to.
James now works part time at the Clare practice and occasionally visits our Snowtown clinic. When his not at work, James enjoys travelling with his wife Dr Lisa Beament, bushwalking and cycling.
Dr Lisa Beament started at Clare Medical Centre in 1990 and is interested in all aspects of rural medicine.
Dr Beament is one of our qualified obstetricians and also an experienced anaesthetist. She is also a member of the Australian Medical Acupuncture Society and provides needle acupuncture for a variety of conditions. Her other medical interests include chronic disease management, diabetes, heart disease, chronic pain, gynecology and women's health (including IUD insertion). She also does regular consulting sessions at the CMC Burra Clinic.
Her hobbies include participating in book club, bike riding, yoga and pilates. She is also a keen participant in Park Run and recently became part of the "100 plus" club now. Lisa enjoys travelling with her GP husband James.
Beginning her time at Clare as a Registrar in 2002, Dr Lisa Koo returned to join the practice permanently in 2005. She is our first and only female partner at the Clare Medical Centre. She works part time in Clare and Snowtown. Her interests include mental health and anaesthetics. She is the supervisor for the intern doctors who spend a term working at the practice.
Lisa has many artistic talents. The paintings around the halls of the Medical Centre, along with the play room near reception are her artworks. The children's playroom is a testament to her creative nature, as the room includes a painting of a local euro (wallaroo) family, and a cubby-house like gumtree, with suspended gum leaves made from x-ray film. She is also a talented seamstress creating some amazing outfits over the years, including costumes, and funky patterned scrubs to wear during the COVID pandemic.
Lisa's sharp eye for detail and colour shows in her dressmaking and other creative pursuits. This attention to detail is also apparent in her work as a rural GP.
Joining Clare Medical Centre in 2010, Dr Marion Crompton specialises in obstetrics, women's health, sexual health and paediatrics. She is the student supervisor at Clare Medical Centre, and each year supports fourth year medical students on attachment from the University of Adelaide.
Marion grew up in Canberra before she moved to Adelaide to study Medicine at the University of Adelaide. She is an avid traveller and speaks fluent German. In her spare time, she enjoys fine food, a glass of wine by the fire and travelling: ideally enjoying all three in unison.
Dr Melanie Considine (nee Clothier) joined Clare Medical Centre in 2012. She did leave for a brief period where she consulted on the Eyre Peninsula before returning to Clare in 2015 for good. Mel is a Shared Care accredited GP and Lactation Consultant. Mel offers comprehensive support throughout pregnancy and the post-natal period, as well as expert assessment and management options for breastfeeding difficulties. She is also accredited in Neuroprotective Developmental Care with Possums Clinic in Brisbane.
A part time GP at Clare Medical Centre since 2000, Dr Michael Nugent specialises in mental health, disabilities and chronic disease management. Michael also works remotely as a GP for Aboriginal Health services at Coober Pedy (Umoona Tjutagku), Wilcannia, Menindee (Maari Ma), Copley and Nepabunna.
Michael is an easy going doctor with a calm and welcoming nature. He enjoys the outdoors, especially bushwalking, kayaking and tennis. When he isn't working away, he enjoys life on a small property in the Clare Valley.
South African-born Morné moved to New Zealand as a teenager and completed his schooling and medical degree in Auckland, New Zealand before moving to Adelaide where he worked in metropolitan hospitals for a couple of years before starting his career in general practice.
Dr Morné Scheepers started consulting at Clare Medical Centre in 2014. Morné splits his time between Clare and the CMC Burra Clinic, located at Burra Hospital. His special interests include sports medicine, men's health, skin cancer medicine and minor procedural work.
Away from work, Morné enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He is also a keen sports fan with a special interest in cricket and rugby union. Morné is also a cycling enthusiast and has often done an easy 50km in the morning before starting work (even in the Clare winter!), which is a testament to his hardworking and determined personality.
Dr Phil Gribble has been at the Clare Medical Centre since 1995. He has particular interests in anaesthetics, general medicine and aged care. Serving Clare and surrounding communities for over 25 years, Dr Gribble is a highly respected and knowledgable GP, and a strong advocate for rural medicine. He mainly consults at Clare Medical Centre, and sometimes at the CMC clinic in Burra. He is a passionate member of several medical committees, mostly to do with rural anaesthesia.
Phil is a tremendous asset to the CMC team and a confident capable leader at the practice.
He enjoys travel and bushwalking. Phil enjoys a challenge and is always happy to help.
Dr Prashan "Prash" Kuruppu completed his fellowship with the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (FACRRM) in 2021.
In addition, he is a specialist Rural Anaesthetist having been awarded the Diploma of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthesia (ANZCA).
Born in Sri Lanka, Prash completed his undergraduate medical training at Manipal University (India). Upon returning to Sri Lanka, he continued his medical career with the World Health Organisation carrying out research in Public Health Policy and Economics within the South East Asian region, before relocating to Australia in 2007.
Dr Rebecca Allmond began consulting at Clare Medical Centre in 2016. She earnt her Medical Degree at Flinders University and completed her GP training in various clinics in the Southern Suburbs (Seaford, Hallett Cove and Flagstaff Hill). Before working as a rural GP in Murray Bridge, which is where she gained her Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics.
Born at Elliston on the Eyre Peninsula, Tod grew up in country South Australia. Dr Owen did his university and GP training in Adelaide, and expanded his surgical and obstetrics skills at Flinders Medical Centre, Modbury Hospital and Darwin. He joined the Clare Medical Centre Team in 2003 as a GP surgeon and Obstetrician.
Tod operates at Clare Hospital fortnightly as a GP Surgeon which includes procedures such as hernia repairs, carpal tunnel repairs, vasectomies, skin grafts and removing skin cancers. His medical interests include obstetrics, surgery and musculo-skeletal medicine.
Tod is known for his colourful sense of humour and easy-going nature. He is an avid Port Power fan and you may have seen him on the footy field playing for the local South Clare B Grade Team.
Dr Tom Nottage started at Clare Medical Centre at the beginning of 2021. Tom grew up in the Adelaide Hills and then undertook his medical studies at the University of Adelaide and metropolitan hospitals. He worked for two years in orthopaedic surgery before making the switch to rural practice.
Prior to relocating to Clare, Tom spent time working in Mount Gambier and provided medical services to the SANFL North Adelaide Football Club. Tom's medical interests include minor procedural work, musculoskeletal injuries, sports medicine and preventative health/lifestyle medicine.
Outside of work Tom enjoys keeping active, spending time outdoors and hosting board game nights with his wife Darcie.
