Amy Boivin

Amy Boivin joined KBBH in 1996 incorporating a thoughtful, consumer-focused leadership strategy to traditional clinical oversight. With a strengths-based organizational leadership approach, her authenticity, compassion for the individual, and unwavering belief that change is possible has created inspired and committed teams. Building on a professional background spanning child and family therapy to residential program oversight and operation, Amy's inspired direction created the scaffolding for KBBH's expansion into nearly 30 individualized programs and services across Klamath County. Her steady, forward-thinking approach to behavioral health care has been integral to KBBH's exponential growth and success. With Amy's sharp focus on the impact of early childhood experiences, commitment to integrated physical and mental health care, and current knowledge of progressive wellness initiatives, KBBH is healthy, strong, and positioned for sustainable future growth. She spends her free time with her husband, son, and dogs enjoying the plentiful outdoor recreation opportunities in the Klamath Basin. You can also find Amy teaching dual credit college psychology courses at a local high school or cheering for her son at ice hockey events.

Jay Otero

Jay Otero joined KBBH in 2004 connecting his experience as an educator and counselor to his passionate belief that every child and adolescent can overcome behavioral health challenges and realize their full potential. Under Jay's leadership, direction, and strong family orientation, KBBH offers a full spectrum of child-focused, trauma-informed interventions including traditional therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, skills building, day treatment, juvenile justice, behavioral rehabilitation, substance use disorders services, therapeutic foster care, and residential services. Jay is a force for good in the world of Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) and creates lasting impact for children, adolescents, and families through his strong leadership of child services. With Jay's heart for at-risk youth, intrinsic ability to coach individuals to personal success, and professional integration with partner agencies, KBBH will continue to improve lives and build healthy families throughout Klamath County. Jay's spare time is committed to his large family, and always a coach, serving as the Defensive Coordinator for a local high school football team.

Kendall Alexander - CEO

Kendall Alexander joined KBBH in 2021 bringing over 30 years of experience in the substance abuse and mental health fields and extensive experience in executive level behavioral health management. A vision-oriented changemaker, Kendall's executive career demonstrates a proven ability to identify community needs, drive innovative program development, integrate care, develop interdisciplinary partnerships, and diversify funding opportunities. Kendall's executive leadership experience and adeptness in service quality improvement and staff engagement aims to strengthen, standardize, and streamline operations at KBBH. Kendall has a proven ability to leverage his expertise in the strategic implementation of an exemplary, care-centric client experience. He is passionate about the integration of mental health, substance abuse, and primary care and believes strongly in the importance of providing and instilling hope through his core values of Compassion, Customer Service, and Collaboration. When not at the forefront of innovative behavioral health care, Kendall stays busy playing Pickleball, reading avidly, and enjoying time with his wife, adult children, and cherished grandson.

Liz Maddalena - COO

Liz Maddalena joined KBBH in 2006 seeking the opportunity to merge her success in the US Air Force and fast-paced corporate world with an opportunity to put her service-focused heart to work creating impact for others. Liz brings a unique ability to transform big ideas into sound strategy development with her business management acumen and financial direction and was instrumental in building KBBH's capacity for expansion. Her authenticity, accountability, stewardship of resources, and extensive knowledge of business governance and organizational management grounds KBBH's core competencies in intelligent business strategy. With Liz at the helm of operational leadership and oversight, KBBH remains positioned to provide the most needed services to Klamath County despite ever-changing resources and priorities. She has a passion for nonprofit service delivery and keeps KBBH fiscally healthy with her negotiation skills, logistics management abilities, and strategic insight. Born to Portuguese immigrants with a strong Catholic faith, Liz balances her stellar work ethic and commitment to excellence with equal value on large family dinners, enjoying her adult children and granddaughters, volunteering in her church, and traveling to her family home in the Azores with her husband of 30 years.

Michelle Culpepper - CHRO

Michelle Culpepper joined KBBH in 2022 driven to apply over 20 years of human resource leadership experience to an environment that emphasizes optimism, strength, and resilience. An inspired and adept organizational leader, Michelle's human resources career has spanned youth and family advocacy, behavioral health services, and hospital administration. Her focus on employee coaching and mentorships leads to service delivery that proves to be consumer-driven and quality focused. Michelle is a highly effective leader and has dedicated her career to establishing supportive work environments, building new leaders, and improving the communities she works and plays in. Her human resource acumen includes executive-level leadership and guidance in the areas of compliance, policy, legislation, and strategic business strategy. Michelle's ultimate goal is to promote continued learning and growth to ensure that KBBH is the best place to work. She is a high-energy, committed world traveler and in her free time, you will find Michelle coordinating international adventures, hiking, mentoring, singing, roller skating, or loving on her family in Chicago.
