ORGANIC SOLAR CELLS

Fraunhofer ISE, with a staff of about 1400, is the largest solar research institute in Europe. We are committed to promoting a sustainable, economic, secure and socially just energy supply system based on renewable energy sources... As the efficiency of silicon solar cells is approaching its theoretical limit, we are developing the next generation of solar cells based on multi-junction solar cells. We are using our comprehensive experience with III-V semiconductors to produce next-generation tandem solar cells with new and potentially more cost-effective semiconductors such as perovskites. In module production, we are focusing on new topologies such as matrix shingling, which achieves particularly aesthetic results in combination with our MorphoColor® technology. We are also conducting research on tandem modules that allow the highest module efficiencies in fixed installations or in concentrating tracking systems... We are developing the next generations of sustainable silicon solar..
